In the Mood
Nov. 2nd, 2002 05:13 pmI went trick or treating!! :D I was so surprised--I didn't expect to go trick-or-treating again. I mean, 16 is a bit old, but I still had a fantastic time.
I'd worn my costume to school, kinda. I was a pirate. :D (I was going to see the new pirate movie! It's rated "arr!") I bought myself an eyepatch at Target, and that morning we drew a skull and cross-bones on it with white-out. lol. And I had my foam sword. XD And I also had this long brown trenchcoat thing that I got from my great-aunt's house, which looked pretty good. So that afternoon we went to Perin's for Halloween. And Perin has a little sister, Zenobia, and we took her trick-or-treating! And we went as well :) Emily had her neon green wig, which she'd worn all day, and Perin had the stunning combination of a leather biker's jacket and a jester's hat, and Katie borrowed another trenchcoat and a fedora (not a fez. I always call them fezzes (now that's a weird word)) and was a gangster.
There were almost no kids out, so all the people were really eager to get rid of their candy--they were giving us whole handfuls. We just went on 2 blocks that were a bit smaller than a city block, and got half a plastic bag full of candy! It rocked! Although I should really be careful--the tooth on the other side is starting to hurt now. . . >.<
On Wednesday I got home and decided that I'd watch Almost Famous while I did my homework, so I did. (my mom had watched it earlier with headphones on while I was at the computer and I was intrigued) I loved it! It was great! The kid playing William, Patrick Fugit, was adorable :D It was really neat. I actually kinda liked Penny, which is out of character for me--she's not the kind of character that I usually like. So last night after we got home I watched it again (I started at around 11:30 and finished at around 1:30) and tonight I think I'm going to watch it yet again with my mom (and probably my social studies homework ;). I wanna get myself the soundtrack.
So yesterday was Friday, and we had Academons! :D It was so much fun! It was all returning members, and we did buzzers (with questions that we'd actually already had, but ah well) and Ms. R read the questions and Friedman was hardly there at all and we were joking and laughing a lot and everything. We messed with the attendance sheet, giving everyone nick-names and titles and stuff. We had an Emperor, a "his royal highness", etc.
Then Katie went home, cos she didn't have rehearsal. But Perin did, the sopranos had a rehearsal for this funny song that they're in and I watched that. It was very amusing. Then me and Perin went to the shopping center to wait for Em to get back from Drivers Ed, then we went to get dinner. Me and Perin went to Subway, Em got pizza, and we met back at the school.
Last night was "All Night Strut", which is a show that was being put on by the theater company of the guy who directs the musical (and was also my english teacher in 7th and 8th grade) and had 4 cast members--one of them being the Choir teacher! yay M! So everyone went to see it. XD It was all these 40's songs (hence the subject of entry), and sometimes they swing danced and stuff. It was soooo awesome!!! The audience was very enthusiastic! I had a great time. It rocked.
In English class, we're about to read Chaucer, so we're watching a Knight's Tale. (btw, a girl at our school that I know is Heath Ledger's second cousin. Her dad and his dad are cousins, and she sees him everyone once in a while and stuff. it's neat) I like it. . . but I don't really like Jocelyn. A major part of this is the anachronisms, with her clothes and her hair and stuff. I hate that. It bothers me, so I get irked whenever I see her. And also, it's kinda like the thing with Penny Lane. It's not a character that I can relate with at all, not the sort of character that I tend to like. (i love her little side-kick, though!!)
The blacksmith, however, completely and utterly rocks my socks. I love her!!! She's so cool!
And I've redesigned my journal and got myself new icons :) It's a Halloween layout, but I'm going to keep it up for a bit ;) I like it.
I slept til noon today, and then spent pretty much all day on the computer. oops. It was fun and relaxing, though.
