Takki took over this entry. AND THE WORLD.

Argh, I'm so out of it this week. Also, why does the google search box in my header say "Q1"? Ahh, they're right next to the tab button on the keyboard, I must have hit them while spaztically trying to tab over.

brief I-can-no-longer-do-schoolwork whining )

OK, nothing interesting happens to me anymore. I ate about half a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch in one sitting? It was tasty.

Katie is in love with Takki these days, she's been watching all T&T music videos. We find Takki hilarious. Actually, we find a lot of things hilarious, sort of without them having to actually do something funny. Leader (from TOKIO) is, of course, the best example of this. But Ohkura does it too, by being so unrelentlessly Ohkura-esque. Takki is so very much Takki, so good at being Takki, that we actually had to come up with an adjective: takkish. Other people can achieve varying degrees of Takkishness but of course, no one is quite as takkish as Takki himself. Which is, er, as things should be. (Katie and I also rank everyone from 1 to 10 on the Jerry Orbach scale. People who downloaded my JE spreadsheet - of which there is a newer, nicer, Kinki Kids-inclusive but also rough and unfinished version which can be downloaded here if anyone on the flist is actually interested. It now has, to the best of my ability to compile, ages at entrance to JE and ages at debut. If you have any better information, let me know? I couldn't find Mabo's age of entrance :( I keep meaning to inquire into that. Also, birthdays have happened so not all ages are up to date. Actually, I did the best with TOKIO I could but I know it's all out of date. I think some of the info is from some clips filmed in 2001, which was probably more recent than whatever magazine their dramawiki info was taken from. It makes me sad, I'm a curious person.)

Anyway, Takki. As Katie and I have said to each other (sorry for bringing up Katie all the time, I know it sort of creates distance when you're always reading about people you don't know but Katie and I have almost exactly the same taste in most things fandom-related. Except, ooh! Ok. We both ADORE Recommen, it makes our lives. And Yoko is her favorite in Kanjani8, and Hina is mine! Which makes us really happy. And, as if that wasn't enough, Shige is my favorite in NEWS, and she's just getting into them but Koyama is her favorite!! . . . those are the only ones we do that for, though. In Arashi she likes Jun, Aiba and Sho and I like Nino, Aiba and Sho and we both love Ohno but just not quite as much, but I like Ohno more than Jun and she likes Ohno more than Nino so it balances out. Anyway, we want to call Recommen and tell them that we're twins who each like one of them but, you know, we don't speak Japanese or get Recommen or really have a good way to telephone Japan. BUT! Katie knows the kanji for wife cos she's taking Chinese and I figured out the whole "no means possession" thing so I figure we just need to make signs that say "Hina's wife" and "Yoko's wife" even though I don't really do the "OHMYGOD I'M GONNA MARRY THEM" thing. It's just cos that's the characters we know. Clearly. Anyway, parentheses, as ever, are taking over my life. Or my journal. I'll start the sentence paragraph over.)

As Katie and I have said to each other, Takki is not someone that we should be a fan of. He's so perfect and so popular and good-looking and confident. He should be completely boring and annoying (like Tegoshi). But goddammit, he's fascinating! Cos he's so ridiculously good at being an idol. What is that? Is anyone else better at it? He's so charming and perfect but before you think he's too perfect and not genuine, he'll laugh at himself and be embarassed and be goofy or make a mistake (. . . "mistake") and it's like "awww, he's human!" But clearly he's not and he's just tricking us into thinking that with his overwhelming takkishness. And crooked smile. Also, we're incredibly amused by his relationship with all of the juniors and all of the Johnny's that were juniors when he was a junior. Is he running everything from behind the scenes? Sometimes he seems too silly to be doing so. Like, I saw that Arashi PV he directed (which, again, is hilarious just by existing). It was not good. But was it not good ON PURPOSE so we don't realize he's running everything?? HE HAD A MUSICAL ABOUT HIS LIFE. God, he's hilarious. Is he one of those weird things that we just find funny and no one else does? Like rich people?

Anyway. I had to break the news to Katie that the song is, in fact, not called "Hot Summer." She's been watching the PV repeatedly anyway. And I finally watched X Dame, it's sort of amazing. That's another thing! What is up with the freakish catchiness of his songs? Venus? Yume Monogatari? It's not normal! >.>

OK, I can't think of anything else to say. Ah! Except that thanks to [livejournal.com profile] taijiproject, I got to watch the mole-hunting episode of D no Arashi and it was SO BEAUTIFUL. And Nino stands in the middle of a field surrounded by mole-hills and shouts "MOGURA!!!" (which means moles, should that not be clear) That's totally me, right now. I'm standing by a bunch of trees with the bark all chewed off at around knee height, next to a dam, shouting "BEAVERS!!!" (true story)

Where ARE they?
