So, I wrote fic. Real fic, this time, with a plot and characterization, that I'm going to actually link here because I actually want my friends to read it! Those of you who don't like TOKIO (::glares::) are excused. Let me know what you think? Comments will make me feel shiny and happy! (Yes. I'm choosing to forsake my dignity in this situation. :D)
Five Times TOKIO Protects Kokubun Taichi
I confidently declare it to be one of the best English-language, Taichi-centric TOKIO fics out there. Perhaps even in the top five. XD Well, actually, I'm mostly impressed that I finished it. It's just sort of normal, but hopefully it's cute and amusing! You guys don't get more summary than that because I'm expecting you to at least click on the link out of your love for me. ::beams::
Although, and this is something twin!Katie and I discuss a lot - TOKIO don't really protect Taichi so much as throw him off bridges and blow him up and let him get the sniffles. (Which, I belatedly realized, would have been an adorable section - someone snuggling him so he didn't get too cold. But I like what I ended up with, so I guess it's OK.) So we think they're forfeiting their Taichi privileges and that we should confiscate him. If I had a Taichi, I would take super-good care of him!
I've been sick and sort of sad lately, but I think I'm on the mend and last night I talked to my dad and he was incredibly sweet and helpful (I talked to my mom and she was sweet but not helpful - I knew as I called her that she wasn't the parent for the situation. When I'm upset, sometimes I need a specific one of my parents different approaches to solving problems) and he gave me perspective and support and love and I cried a lot (and dripped snot on the glittens katie made me. :( Whoops. It's hard walking in the rain, talking on a cell phone, crying, while having a cold so i'm already a little more fluid-filled than usual) and felt a lot better afterwards.
Also for Japanese history class she assigns us a lot of little tiny biography thingies, and we read one about this family where they managed to raise 14 children to adulthood and send them all to college. It was really sweet and I got quite sentimental about it as I read it at breakfast yesterday morning. It reminded me a lot of Cheaper by the Dozen, which is one of my favorite books. But yeah, it was a lot of the parents working together and they just seemed like a really good family, somehow. Although the boys all grew up weird. XD Oh well.
Lots of work coming up over the next two weeks. D: Two midterms and two papers. But I'm totally going to be healthy and I'll get lots done this weekend. Well, ok, one of the papers is due on Tuesday, so I will really have to get that done. And I have to start research for the other one, even though it's only 3-5 pages. And I have to start studying for my first midterm. ::whimper:: It's not more than I can do, but it's more than I can motivate myself to do.
Discussed Birth of a Nation and the director, D. W. Griffith, in my American Pop Culture class. Two words: Crazy. Sauce. Also, geez. I'd only heard "It's a really racist movie." I DID NOT REALIZE THE HEROES WERE THE KLAN! "Really" doesn't quite cover it! I would like about 14 more reallys added to that sentence!
OK, yeah. That's about it, because all I've been doing the last couple days is moping and being sick. XD I did watch How I Met Your Mother with friend!Steph, it was excellent. And the two of us are planning to go to a pub (bar? pub? what is it, Monkey?) in town tomorrow night, by which point I am confident that I will be healthy enough to drink alcohol again and I will order cider which I have been missing since I left England and it's prodigious supply of Strongbow.

Date: 2008-02-28 02:52 am (UTC)Taichi (http://pics.livejournal.com/guingel/pic/00010c06/g7) is cute and just. . . cute. I can't even handle how cute he is. But he's also good at talking, he hosts lots of shows, and he's really peppy and he goofs around a lot. He talks a lot about how immature he is, but he writes these really sweet j-webs that are also, well, cute, but also funny and thoughtful. He's probably the most likely to hang out with the other members. And he's friends with, like, everyone in Johnny's. And he secretly wishes that he was tall like Mabo and Nagase. I think that if there was some sort of magic where I could just have a member of Johnny's, to hang out with or whatever, I would want Taichi. I want a Taichi all the time. XD His cuteness cannot be described in words!
Then Yamaguchi (http://pics.livejournal.com/guingel/pic/00016gzf/g7) is the burliest, manliest manfest in Johnny's. XD But he's also, like. He's really chill and laid back, totally a surfer, but he's also totally silly and laughs a lot, and he has the cutest laugh and smile wrinkles and just always seems really good-natured about everything. And he's the bassist, which is really really hot. He's the most likely to be seen on their show where they work on a farm, building a fence or plowing a field or making glass or something ridiculous like that, but he also hosts a show where it's him and a bunch of cross-dressers and he teases them all the time.
Mabo (http://pics.livejournal.com/guingel/pic/0000ggcs/g7) is like. . . the perfect man. I don't even know. He's so crazy, you can really see the strong sense of "even though I'm an idol, I want to be myself" thing in him. So there's this whole really intense, artistic side of his personality - he directs their PVs and stuff. And that's the guy who has weird hair and wears glasses or shades a lot and is incredibly quirky. But then there's the silly side, because all of TOKIO have them, of course. And Mabo can certainly dork out with the best of them. But then there's the other side where everyone is always talking about how Mabo is really, really considerate, that he's always thinking about others and if they're happy and doing OK, and he seems like one of the most mature people in Johnny's. (Just cos, like, their job is to stay sort of immature and fun!) Also, he's the drummer. ::swoons::
Then. There's Leader (http://pics.livejournal.com/guingel/pic/0000h3zd/g7). My favorite ridiculous (http://pics.livejournal.com/guingel/pic/0001p7wg/g7) person (http://pics.livejournal.com/guingel/pic/0000kppx/g7). XD There's no one like Leader in Johnny's because people like Leader aren't supposed to be in Johnny's. He's just. Not. Cool. He's an excellent guitarist and if he wasn't in JE he might be a good-looking guy, but he's like, so unfortunate. XD There are all these stories about terrible things that have happened to Leader, and he's a really incredibly sweet and mild guy, so TOKIO will tell these stories about how he ended up living in the costume closet at JE and he'll just smile and say quietly "it was ok." He's also a little hard to describe in words, it's easier in stories. But he's really, like, easy to love because he's one of the most relatable ones, you know? And he actually is such a sweetie. :D
Sorry for the questions...! I'm trying to get them somewhat straight in my head...
Date: 2008-03-01 09:34 pm (UTC)But was Leader the one who was just random and all over the place during the countdown? Like, not even singing, but just messing around with anything and anyone possible? ^^;;
Re: Sorry for the questions...! I'm trying to get them somewhat straight in my head...
Date: 2008-03-01 10:23 pm (UTC)Taichi is indeed the host of SCP. Although I find he comes across somewhat differently there than he does usually. He's a bit less charming on SCP - I think it's a kouhai thing. XD I think he's more like himself when people from his generation are the guests.
Leader. . . TOKIO all really mess around a lot during Countdown, although Leader actually seems a bit less likely than the others to do so. This most recent one? Leader sang Miso Soup at the recent one, and Mabo had a ridiculous brown mohawk. I can't remember anything else in particular that the others did. . . but if there's a certain incident you can name I'll definitely check it out! (I love Countdown, so any excuse to watch it again!)
