So, on Tuesday I did almost all of my unpacking! I haven't done any unpacking since. XD But I really am almost done. I have a lot of books to shelve, though. I cleared off one of my bookshelves that I was using to store notebooks and crafts supplies and stuff, so that I have a place to put the copious amounts of books that I've acquired. But I didn't start putting the books onto the shelves because I really enjoy shelving and alphabetizing, so I left it as something that I'd get to do when I finished. But I still haven't done it, so my floor is essentially a great big pile of books right now. But that is ok.

Anyway, it feels good to have gotten stuff done. And yesterday I found my retainer, finally! I actually think I dreamt the night (which I just spelled with a k for reasons that I might get into later) before that I found it. It was starting to worry. My teeth are sore from wearing it--it's been like 2 weeks which is bad. But not too bad, because I've had it for a long time.

Yesterday, I got my grades! And they were highly satisfactory!

I got a B+ in Approaches to the Study of Religion, Topic Ritual, which was my least favorite class. . . that I've taken at Smith. Also, now that I think of it, my art history colloquium was pretty crappy too. I am not meant for colloquia. But in the art history one it wasn't so much cos the students talked to much--the teacher was bad. This class had great teachers and still sucked. I'm a little worried because at Manchester it seems that each class has a tutorial/seminar which appears to be arranged somewhat similar to this class. But oh well. Anyway, B+ is fine.

I got an A- in Jewish Texts and Traditions, which makes me really happy. I was getting a lot of B+s on papers, and I was sort of like "why can't I make you happy, Former Child Star Justin Cammy??" I must have done well on my final. I always do so well on exams! And so mediocre on papers! ARGH. Anyway, yay for getting an A-!

I also got an A- in Islamic Thought in Modernity, which also makes me really happy. I loved that class, and the professor (who is one of the really good professors in the really bad colloquim) is so awesome, and is someone who I asked for a recommendation. He's really smart and really nice, and I really admire him, so it makes me happy that I did A- work in his class.

And I got an A in Physics! Haha, I suspect that sounds a lot more impressive than it actually is. The class was quite easy. But I'm still really happy. And it means I can't have done that badly on the final paper. Mine ended up being 2231 words, and he said it should be between 2000 and 2500. Woo! I wasn't sure if I was doing what he wanted, though. But anyway, I knew that in order to get a bad grade, I would really have had to screw that up, because I got 100% on 10 of the 13 homework assignments, or something like that.

And my GPA now is 3.68. Which is exactly what it was last semester.

Apart from that, I've discovered the world of DCU fanfiction. I mean, I had dipped my toe in earlier, read some of 'rith's stuff, or other offpanel.net authors, but I really only like to read stories featuring Timmy (I do this in every fandom) and she doesn't have that much. And I wasn't that interested. But I recently discovered that the DC fanfiction community is one of the most incredibly well-organized that I have ever seen! So it's making it pretty easy to get into. But there's this one author who is really prolific, and she's good, but her stories are long and they're quite difficult. So it's been a weird experience. Anyway, I think that's why I added a k to the beginning to night before--Dark Knight, all that.

Tomorrow I'm going to Bethpage, which should be fun. I've been wanting to go for a while but I haven't wanted to face the groups of schoolchildren. So I was thinking of just going as a visitor, but it was hard to get there, there's rarely a car available. But since its Memorial Day weekend, mom and I are going to go help out. There won't be any groups, just crowds. Which is ok.

Still no needs from Arcadia. DOOM.
