AP Scores

They came!!! Mostly, I just feel relieved.

Mixed bag this year. Mostly good, with one big whopping not good. :( Because it's art. I got a 3! On art. Which sucks, because the teacher showed us a 3, and it was not good. I don't know. I'm really disappointed. Totally, totally, ick.

However, 2 amazing things happened! I got a 3 on calc BC! Which is enough for credit! And a subgrade of 4-what I would have gotten on the AB. Yay!!

And I got a 3 on Physics C!!! O_O I thought I got a 1. I would have thought I'd get a 0 except you can't get a zero. I am totally amazed blown out of the water. I think Smith may only take the 3 for Calc BC (which is silly, because Physics is hard, especially C!) but I don't care, I'm just really proud of myself. (ooh, look at the reference table. I know that table well. And also my default icon? Yeah. Spent a lot of time with that book. XD)

So the two things that really made me happy and the one that really made me unhappy are all 3s. lol. But the two are really difficult tests. :D

I'm also pleased about my English and Gov grades--both 5! I was kind of expecting 4s, although I really didn't know what to expect so I tried not to speculate. But I'm really happy about those. Now I have four 5s and five 3s. lol.

Because French was also a 3, which is what I was expecting. And I'd be just indifferent about that grade, expect Katie got a 4, and I definitely shouldn't have done better than her, or the same, so I'm happy. And happy for Katie. Who got a 5 on Bio!! Yay Katie! :D And a 4 on Gov, and the same as me on Calc and English. Go us!!

So, there you have it. Three years, nine exams, four perfect grades, one disappointment, two miracles.

Smith and AP credit is a tricky business. It depends on what department you're talking about to see if you'll get credit automatically, or only have credit if you've had to drop a class (i.e. the English department).

Yeah, I got that impression. That it was tricky. Like, I know technically what is accepted as credit, but I really have no idea how to use it--so I guess I'll just figure things out on a case by case basis. I wasn't really taking them for credit, so it's ok. I still feel that Physics C was about as hard as Calc, though! And it would have been harder if I had taken Electromagnetism, or worse--both! That's not a Smith thing, though. Apparently most schools will only accept the lower grade for BC Calc.

Hey, well done. :)

And as for the art, well that kinda sucks but art is relative anyway. I've seen some of the stuff you've posted up here, and I think it's pretty good. And (to my mind anyway) that's at least as good as having good grades in something.

yeah, that's what my parents said--that the whole thing is subjective, and that they don't spend a lot of time on each portfolio. Ah well.
