Yesterday, I stayed up waaay too late. Which is why I've only been up for about 45 minutes as of now. 1:15. XD But mom made waffles! In honor of father's day. The reason I was up so late was partially due to the fact that the very last episode of BtVS Season 3 was airing at 1 on Fox. Graduation Day Part 2. It was awesome! There was all temwork, and coolness, and I was getting all teared up--but then Xander was being all butch and commanding, so I'd get all distracted by him. It was nice! And they're going right into Season 4 next week, apparently! I personally feel that I could use a little time to recover from this one. . . but I'm also going to be watching the second to last episode of, well, of the show. Which is airing at 3 on UPN. But 3 in the afternoon.
Yesterday, I went clothes shopping. O_O This doesn't sound too exciting, but it's the first time I've gone clothes shopping to really buy clothes for myself in. . . at least over a year. Probably more. I've gone quickly to target or whatever if I needed something--although usually I can just send out Mom and Katie and they'll get whatever I need. And I've ordered shirts off the internet. XD But that's different. Yesterday, I went to Old Navy and Nordstrom Rack to buy some shorts, and nice clothes (skirts) to wear to work. First off, I almost never wear skirts, so that was traumatizing enough! Second off, I don't like spending money. And we spent sooo much. The whole experience was just frightening. I was really happy to have Katie: Shopper Extraordinaire with me. I also just don't really like shopping, I don't like clothing stores. . . very ick.
I am really pleased with what I got, though. Some nice long denim shorts and comfy green-gray shorts (which is a miracle in and of itself. We had a hell of a hard time because I do not like current girl's fashions. The shorts and the skirts are all ridiculously short, everything is meant to expose as much skin as possible. I also just don't like tank tops, but that's more of a personal preference than an exposure issue). I couldn't find any nice knee-length skirts at Old Navy. I found one that's a little big at Nordstrom Rack, but Mom is going to take it in for me. And maybe make me some new skirts! The skirt she made me is still my favorite.
But I ended up with two ankle length skirts with slits up to the knee. And then I got t-shirts to match. They're all very, very nice. And I got a shorter skirt at Nordstrom Rack, as I mentioned before, which freakishly matched almost every t-shirt that I got. We got light blue, dark blue, brown, red, and white, and the skirt is brown with red and blue and white flowers on it. We also got a kind of pink shirt, which doesn't match.
I really am not that fond of wearing skirts, though. They're kind of high maintenance--they require more thinking about while you're wearing them than pants or shorts. But I am pleased to be able to wear them to work, because in summer they'll be cooler than pants. And we can't wear shorts to work. Coulottes, maybe. But I don't have any. XD
OK, probably other stuff to say, but can't think of it. Still a bit tired and out of things.

Date: 2004-06-20 05:45 pm (UTC)Save money: use restraint! That's my motto ;) Or something. It's hard. You need stuff, but. . .
Also, I felt bad because Dad was paying for it, you know?

Yep. My summer job really doesn't pay for squat. The rents are paying for everything under the sun it seems, and they're nice enough to say whatever money I make during the summer should go into my bank account so that I have spending cash for college. O.o Sometimes I feel so underprivileged. I just hope I can someway pay them back someday.

Date: 2004-06-22 03:45 pm (UTC)Wait. . . you have parents who are willing to pay for stuff, but you feel underprivileged? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
soz for the late reply, by the way.
