I really need to go to bed, because it's almost midnight, but first, I had to write about all the totally rocking stuff that happened to me today!

I got. . .
1) an ipod mini! blue! it's soooo cute! I adore it, and have been setting it up and everything. I still have some stuff to put on it, though.
2) a new cell phone. I'm not big into cell phones, but it's cute, and useful. XD Katie has been playing with that.
3) A JOB!!! Whoooo! The job that I really, really, really wanted--I got! :D I'm soooo happy. Except Katie doesn't have a job yet, which puts a bit of a damper on things. The other available job at the same place, the person is still interviewing. Eep! So we don't know yet. But she should be able to get a job in Queens if this doesn't work out. But me and Dad will both be in Manhattan. :(

Still--sooooo relieved.

I also finished my mural in art. Yay!
And I wrote all my thank you notes. XP so annoying. But finished! And I found an award check thing for $150 that I was afraid I'd lost! whew!
And I took a picture of Aïcha and got her address and everything. :)

But I was very, very slow today. I took a nap at 5:30, and when I woke up at 7:30, I was convinced that it was 7:30 AM and I didn't really start to put things together until I looked in the mirror and saw that I was still dressed XD

I also switched headphones for my ipod. But when I plugged in the new pair of headphones, I couldn't hear anything! I was like "oh, no! The sound isn't working!" and started to mess with the plug. Then I thought maybe it was quiet? So I turned up the volume, and my mom's like "Well, I know it's working, because now I can hear it!" And then I realized. . . I'd switched plugs, but I was still wearing the other headphones on my ears! I'd never switched ear-pieces! Soooo sad!

Academons party tomorrow! And I handed in my speech today. Also, Young Composer's Concert! (one of the classes--AP Music Comp, I think--the student's write original compositions, and this year will be the third concert where they perform them. Or rather, conduct them. My brother did it two years ago. Last year, one boy wrote this absolutely gorgeous, really moving piece for the choir. I still tear up thinking about it. Because at the time, his dad was really, really sick. And he had to be rushed to the hospital once. And, since his dad is a cop, they were able to stop traffic for him. So the song was about that. The music was beautiful, too, as well as the composition. And especially looking back on it, because this year the boy's father died. Anyway, he's a really amazing kid.) (I say "kid" even though he's my age--I do that to people waaaay older than me, too. Just not to their face.)

side note--katie may have succeeded in getting me into The Band!! Cos we watched The Last Waltz. And it was awesome. and they're all so loveable. And mostly Canadian! Like, the song I have stuck in my head is all about Dixie, so they had to get the one genuinely southern guy to sing it--Levan--he's sooo cute!! But it's actually by Robbie, who is Canadian. Everyone except Levan is Canadian. But their music is kind of rock 'n' roll meets country. And Robbie writes most of the songs, but he can't sing--so he has a mic at concerts. . . but it's turned off! And he sings his little heart out, and you can see his lips move, but can't hear anything! XD David assures us that he knows about this, but it amuses me and Katie.

Also, The Band: beards. I want to join a fanlisting for The Band's beards. I was a little disappointed, because Katie and David were always talking to me about their beards, and only half of them have beards. (yeah, there are five of them, but Levan only has half a beard. Rick has some sort of freakish horrible growth, but Katie suspects it's just because of a bad job shaving) But then Katie pointed out that Garth's beard counts as two. Ahhh. . . Garth. .. Anyway. And Rich's is really high quality. Very, very nice. And well-groomed!

not exactly sure at the moment--when I find out, I'll describe it in greater deltail. Plus, this entry is public, so I'm not going to share the little things that I do know ;)

It's part basic interning--filing, organizing. They said I'd be doing some proofreading and stuff, which is pretty nifty. But it's also part helping them out with this huge project the department is doing (I'm working for NYC, by the way) and I think helping out at meetings and things. The project is totally awesome and the job just sounded a lot more interesting and cool than I'd expected.
