May. 17th, 2002 10:57 pmj0. Feel like I haven't written in a while. I've been checking my friends page like a good little girl though ;)
uhm. I don't have anything in mind to say. . . lessee. . . Thank god it's friday. We did the academons thang after school today. actually, we just planned who we were going to recruit for the Faculty Challenge thing. But it was riotous fun anyway ^_^ And Adam came!! yay! But David was kinda mean to him. . . we yelled at David though, and we're going to apologize to Adam on Monday. :-/ (I mean, not mean so much as made him feel kinda bad. . . I'm not sure. s'complicated.) But we had a lot of fun with Adam. . . David left for rehearsal, and then Friedman left, and eventually it was just me, Katie, and Adam, so we were kinda having fun and writing on the blackboard and making fun of the posters. (I'm not sure what the assignment was. . . but. . . geez. . .) And I left the board with "L4|_|r4 0\/\/n5 j00" on it. XD uhm. . . yeah. . . cos I'm wearing my Megatokyo "Ph34r my l33t nekkid skillz!!!" shirt.
so after academons we found em and perin, and also Kristen, and then we went to Dunkin' Donuts!! We actually never go there usually (except we went for breakfast on the last day of school last year, which was fun) but it's been closed for repairs or whatever for the last few weeks, so we celebrated its grand re-opening. I had a butternut donut, which was lovely. my favorite kind :D And then Em and Perin and Kristen had to go back to the school to attempt to do Muzart stuff, but I was in the middle of a discussion with David about nationalism at the time (I conceded that it had the potential for good, and he conceded that it wasn't doing that much now, and was certainly doing more harm. He calls it a neutral virtue, I believe this means that it depends on the. . . "user" is the only word I can think of.) so me and Katie and Dave stayed to finish it up, and then we got to talking about other things, and we ended up staying til past 5. which was at least 40 minutes after everyone else left, I think. . .
We were giving him some advice about college and all: don't do drugs (he says he'll probably do caffeine. . .) don't smoke, don't have sex with people you don't know--both of you should get checked for any STDs first (a double bonus cos it also gives time to think about what you're doing) and to do his work. I feel like there was more, but whatever. First I said to do your homework. . . which was interesting because this guy, Jason. . . well, he and David have this argument about whether or not masturbation is necessary, and apparently it's David's homework to masturbate, him having never done this before. And David refuses to do it, and Jason keeps bothering him about it. . . well. Anyway. When I said "do your homework" Dave was like "Why are you on Jason's side??" And I was all scared. lol. But then I figured it out and explained. Although I think David has nothing to lose by masturbating but whatever.
what else? if anyone cares, all went well with health project. I also got to make a die out of origami (well, it's a cube, but we drew dots on it) and everyone was much impressed. ::sneezes, twice, violently:: I sneeze in two's.
I finished T' Great Gatsby and now I can read American Gods in peace!! whooo hooo! Except for that this weekend I have to do a math regents, write a children's story about chemistry, get my thesis for english (the whore didn't say thesis statement or thesis paragraph. . . ah god. I guess I'll do paragraph but I don't know. . . and she did something stupid with the whole Vonnegut thing--she gave him to someone else also and says we have to do different works, but he really didn't write that many things in the 60s so we're screwed. . . she says I'm ok cos I got him first and all, but god. it sucks. we could conceivably write about the same books, but that would be simple and nice.) and a social studies chapter to read and answer questions on (but I don't have to read closely cos the AP is ovah and the regents is mad easy) and some chem problems. oh, and my sketchbook. O_O
i hate the speaking parts in french. among other things, there's always one word that I can't think of. ugh. and I get all nervous and stressed. at least I have a pretty nice accent.
we actually had a sub in chem today, amazing because the teacher's never absent. everyone was so shocked coming in. apparently she's not sick though, which is good. I was worried--she's always here, I thought it must have been something really bad to keep her out. she left a whole lot of work to do though -_- sod.
our parents were supposed to be camping this weekend, saturday night, but they're not because they can't get a campsite. damn. sucks for them, and it's too bad for me, I was looking forward to having the house to ourselves. ah well. not like I was really gonna do anything funky. I might have worked better though. I'll do that. the less you bug me the more you get done. it's not like, a conscious thing though. Katie. . . oh god. . . ok, so in English I wanted Katie to give the damn woman her author, so that no one else would take it. and Katie just wouldn't!! There was really no reason to wait, I thought, and she wouldn't until the very end of the period, and eventually I think it was just because I told her to. It's not like I was ordering her! And I said, it was because I didn't want anyone else to get the author! gaaah!!
have found out that my brother Mike (who's 17) sometimes smokes cigars, and sometimes drinks ::sigh:: I'm worried about him, going off to college. Mike doesn't always make the best decisions. (actually, him and Katie are rather similar in that, kinda--katie will put off homework to slack off, which is ok to an extent. . . but it gets ridiculous, and she knows she's hurting herself. Mike will not do work and all either.) Anyway. . . I hope he'll be ok. :-/
you know, Mike is 6 foot and he's the shortest guy in my family. that's so not cool, I'm like, 5'3" or maybe 4. gaah!! My little grandpa was short, but you know. ::blink:: This is definitely not a well-written entry. I'm tiiiired.
I'm getting weirder and weirder accents online. I try to type the way I think, and sometimes I just say things funny in my head. not out loud though. uhm. I went onto yahoo and Rhona had IMed me back. you know the way you can IM someone when they aren't there and all? That's the only way me and Rhona can talk anymore!! gaaah! I never talk to her, we're never on at the same time :( Maybe cos of the time difference, and the fact that I always forget to go onto yahoo (she's in Scotland). Oh, and sometimes I have to translate what she's saying so I don't even try when I'm tired ;) (funky scottish slang, I guess. or possibly just Rhona. lol.) And I haven't spoken to Chris in like, a year. :-/ I miss him. he used to make me feel really good about myself. I'm doing ok this year on my own though. ah well.
We watched this video in health. . . uhm. . . the Trevor Ferrell story I think? It was about a kid who helped the homeless and stuff, it was really cool. And that was the first time my health class has like, applauded a video when it ended, so that felt really good.
we're doing watercolors in art, which is a pain because I'm terrible at watercolors and I really don't like the way mine is turning out. XP soddit.
anyway, I'm making less and less sense, and I can't think of anything else to say, so I'll stop.
good-bye.

Date: 2002-05-18 01:44 pm (UTC)i hate all the books we have to read too. ugh. i don't know. . . why are these things classics!! Me and Katie were looking at a list of the "best books of all time" and they had a list made by some "board" and one made by readers. well, the only good book on there was Hitchhiker's guide, and that was just on the reader list. the other one had more stream-of-consciousness novels than anything else. wtf?? james joyce was on there so many times! It was ridiculous! What is it with people and loving books that no one can understand?? GYAHHH!!
anyway. . . American Gods is lovely. thank heaven for Neil Gaiman. (btw, how do you pronounce his name? I'm not sure. . .)

I don't know about festival thing. . . no one tells me anything! lol. Actually, I don't really move in anime circles, so I didn't know about it. What's all this, then? (my twisted way of saying where can I find info?)
I did know about the Comics Con. Which is in California. And which I'm not allowed to go to! ::sobs::
I'm definitely more of a comics fan than an anime fan. . . I feel kinda outta place in the impromanga stuff, you guys all seem to be hard-kore anime fans. . . I've heard of a lot, but only actually seen a very very few. :-/ Meh. I'm a big GW and Digimon fan though. . . whatever.
Re:

Date: 2002-05-19 09:10 am (UTC)oooh, cool. I'll have to check out the con. I've never been to a con. isn't that terrible? Poor deprived me. ;)
hehe. I'm a big yaoi girl--1x2 and Taito and pretty much anything with Duo on the bottom, actually. (I'm one of those people who's picky about who's where.) I have these banners on my planner that say "I thought you knew--I'm a yaoi kind of girl!" and "I support Taito, because the prophecies don't lie" ;) (I've been asked what they mean, and i usually say "If I told you, I'd have to kill you." One kid decided they were a secret club that I was in. I told him he'd got it exactly right.)
yaoi central places? whut? ("whut" is "what" when I'm feeling particularly thick--most of the time ;)
icon is from Digital Aniki (http://homepage2.nifty.com/digiani/), iss one of my favorite sites. :D
(this one is from http://saka.syste.ms, which is down once again!)
Re:

Date: 2002-05-19 11:41 am (UTC)oooh. . . well, I've read a crap-load of yaoi GW fanfiction ;) I've had less success with Taito. But ah well. (it's all Yamachi. sod it.) And then the other anime I'm kinda familiar with is Evangelion, which doesn't have so much. . . except for Kaji being a horndog and coming onto everything that moves. lol.
