"I think this line's mostly filler"
Mar. 30th, 2004 11:03 ammy LJ activities have been hampered by my discovery (and theft) of the songs from the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, aka "Once More With Feeling". XD Addiction. Must watch more of that show. Xander love! Well, in the musical episode, Tara love, Giles love, and Spike love. hoooo. ::fans self:: (translation: James Marsters love. His cheekbones have stopped striking fear into my heart, only slight nervousness) Anyway. yes. New fandom, interfering with, uhm, life. :D Although, thinking about that, I don't have much of a life, so. . .
Awesome news!!! Whoo! I don't even know how to phrase this. I mean, where to start. Well, my sister, Katie, is a fantastic photographer. And I was going to give you some examples, but her best work hasn't been uploaded or even scanned or anything. So too bad for you. But anyway, she is. :D And her photo teacher (actually, Katie is no longer in a photo class, but she goes in during her free periods and uses the darkroom) loves her, and thinks she's amazing, which she is. So she's arranged for Katie to have an entire display case to herself!! We have several display cases throughout the school, for art stuff, and different displays. There's this big sportsnite thing, where the girls who participate (a fairly large amount, made largely of people I don't like very much. I mean, some of them are ok, but it's totally not my scene. lots of popular-jap-divas-whatever-people do it) divide into teams and compete. oddness. Anyway, they do all sorts of weird things in the display cases, but they've finished. Which is excellent, because there are display cases over in the art wing, which is where the art/photo stuff usually goes (and one by the cafeteria, that we also used) and then there are several in the commons, which sportsnite uses. And we thought that Katie was going to be in the art wing, but it turns out she was able to get herself one right in the commons where everyone will see it! A whole display case, just for Katie! :D I helped make her a name-plate thingie. Waaaaaay cool. I'm so proud. It's so neat! Wowza. Very jazzed!!
Also very happy about the really fun and awesome conversation that I had with
cloudtrader Sunday evening. It was great! Or at least, I thought so. Much babbling on my part. Which is actually a good sign, really. Because in conversations, especially with new people (not that cloudie is really new, but, you know. . . whatever) I'll either not be able to shut up, or won't be able to think of anything to say and there are loads of awkward pauses. So this was really good. And I think I let her get a word in edgewise. . . ;) I really enjoyed talking to her.
On a less positive note, am so sick of art and my concentration theme, which isn't even what the AP Board wants and stuff. Ugh. And I have actual work to do today!! Physics problems. . . not cool. And I've had the assignment since last thursday, so I really should have worked on it before. I'll have a lot to do for that later.
And the last day of our trial is tomorrow. I have loads of stuff to do for that. I have to write my instructions to the jury and all, and then I apparently have to write up a closing argument--my thoughts on the whole trial and all. AGH! No one warned me about that. And I need to get the notes I took during the trial organized for jury deliberations, which I'm apparently leading. We started our deliberations today, because we'd finished all the witnesses and neither counsel was prepared to give closing statements. It was fun, though. I'm with the prosecution, and so were most of the jurors, so that was good. But we were having a hard time separating the trial (where neither side made much of a point) from the book. Very difficult. Hence the reorganization of my notes. Oy.
Oh, and if I didn't tell you. . . did I? I did get accepted into everywhere, except for Wesleyan, which I have yet to hear from (but don't really care about). So all goodness. And Barnard and Smith are giving me healthy financial aid--about $13,000 from each. Which is great! :D
