whee! english teacher said I am doing a good job as judge, and the mess I've made of my character list while bouncing from prosecution to defense trying to figure out who gets which witness is ample evidence of this fact. :D

However, now I have to write an opening statement, and am fairly confused on what this is meant to consist of. From what I've managed to discern from research, I need to tell everyone to behave, tell the jury to be not prejudiced and open-minded and what not, give the order in which all the statements and examinations are going to happen. . . and I'm not sure, but possibly a summary of the crime and what happened? And I need to give what the prosecution and defense are pleading. Or something. Does that sound right to anyone who knows better? I'm going to check this all out with the teacher tomorrow, though. And I think I need to tell the jury that the opening statements of the two sets of attorneys should not be taken as evidence.

Friday we have our art field trip to the Met. woo!

this week, our sketchbook assignment was to do something opposite our theme, and I drew a big muscley comic book style guy, which was a lot of fun, and I wish I could use it for my concentration, because I actually think it turned out pretty good. i tend to be a wimp with the shading, but I still like it. And comic book muscles are so much fun because there's room for a lot of artistic lisence, which is a relief.

I also have yet another new fandom. This one is fun, and almost as random as the Horatio Hornblower fandom was for me at first.

Also, this is an awesome little game thingie that [livejournal.com profile] cloudtrader linked to. It's loads of fun, and I was actually able to get it, which is impressive, cos I never get this sort of "figure it out yourself" thing. You just click wherever you get a link til something works, pretty much.

My mom is a children's librarian, and she brought all the toys home from the programs that they have for little kids at the library to be washed (that sentence is a little messed up). Anyway, now our house is full of all the little kid toys that Katie and i had when we were small, like plastic food, and a little barn and stuff! I covet.

by the way, weather sucks. no more snow! just. . . no.
edit: on a related note, our art room is sooo cold these days, the teacher (who's extremely nice) let us all go down to the cafeteria in small groups and get hot water (which is, miraculously, still free) and gave us hot chocolate! and she had whipped cream! It was awesome, and not just because it kept me occupied in art, during which I've been at something of a loose end, lately. I should be working on concentration pieces, but oh well.
