excellent trip to the city and some random shit

You know how people say that violence is not the answer? Well, violence really doesn't work! That makes me really happy. Cos some people are really nonviolent, and can't bring themselves to raise a hand against others. And I'm not one of those people. I have a short temper (although I'm kind of getting more control. . . well, I'm definitely better than I used to be, but that doesn't say much) and I'm very angry and my instinct is to react with violence. >.< But, because that doesn't work, and I can be fairly practical, and I have an even stronger instinct toward self-preservation--I very rarely attempt to beat people up! wooo! I have a keen sense of consequences, or something, and in my place, it's managed to take the place of actual self-control, or even morals!

yes, I may just start posting all the random things that pop into my head. be afraid.

in other news, I had an awesome day in the city today. Wandered the Met til we (me, Katie, and mom) were exhausted, and had seen a large amount of cool stuff. Armour and Arms--very sexy. Well, the swords and pistols were. And I learned the difference between a glaive, a halberd, and a partisan. And a revolver and a pistol, which I should have known, cos pistol's are a lot larger. What can I say? I don't like guns. Except when I'm finding them sexy. Me and weapons have a weird relationship. Cos, well, the violence thing yeah, but I really don't like weapons. When they're being used. Anyway. We also looked at Asian art--mostly Southeast Asia and India, I believe--we turned away from the Japanese and Chinese art cos we wanted to be heading towards the musical instruments.

It was great fun. Then we went and met dad and had dinner in our favorite restaurant in Chinatown. Where the people are soooo nice, and always happy to see us (especially mom--me and katie come every time we're in the city, and dad's there all the time, but mom's very rarely there) and the proprietess gave me and Katie the prettiest little embroidered purses! ::squeals:: sooooo incredibly nice!!!

Oh yes--other purchases :D At the museum, Katie and I got two necklaces to share. An African one that's beaded in all different bright colors, and an Egyptian Scarab pendant. Both very pretty. And Katie got herself a set of Japanese art stickers (including the famous one of the ocean and a wave by an artist whose name escapes me but which was on the first page of the chapter about waves in our physics book) (that reminds me that I have to start doing my homework ::winces::) and one of Monet stickers. And we got ourselves candy in Chinatown :D

And then we went to Midtown comics, where I got myself Finder: King of Cats. I read a large amount of it on the train, but I still have to finish. Am so annoyed that the Ascians think Jaeger has no soul. What the hell? You bitches made him a sin-eater! grrr. Well, I don't know how this works. But I know Jaeger has a soul! :( Anyway, I can't wait to finish it so I can start rereading it!

on an unrelated note, I looooove alliteration. It amuses me no end. And I tend to pull conversations up short to bring attention to it. XD
