Here's what I have to do between now and 11:15 tomorrow.

work through packet. skim through bits of review book that you haven't done yet. take practice test. read through parts of review book that tell you how to answer the various questions. check notes on DBQs? Find notes on chapter 31. (and look at them.)

[packet is something she gave us tonight at review, s'got much of the 20th century after WWI on it.]

whooo hooo! Not bad!! :D I'll take the practice test tonight. . . maybe check the notes on 31 and DBQ. . . maybe read those bits of review book that are like "cracking the thematic questions" and stuff. . . and then tomorrow morning I'll do the packet, cos I'm tired. Long review session.

We did get to tell her (teacher) about the Jean-Paul Sartre sketch, which was awesome!! :D lol. She really really liked it. Which was cool. I really really really like my teacher. She's cool. And she's a really good teacher. And she's a Social Democrat. (just thought I'd throw that in to give you a better idea of what she's like.)

learning about Fascism has strengthened my belief that nationalism is bad. the only time that it serves any purpose is when it causes people to support their government to prevent a violent rebellion or whatever. But then, you should support the government because it does a good job, not just because it's your government of your country.
Had the shocking realization that America is heading toward Fascism. Fascism has never been as much as an enemy as Communism, which is ridiculous because although it was done poorly in the Soviet Union (and doesn't work very well in countries where there's not a lot to share to begin with) but ideologically, it's good. I guess if I had to be tied down to a political party it would be revisionism or social democracy.
Like, let's take. . . comic book morals. Which can be pretty black and white. Like, "good" and "evil." As opposed to "helps the middle class," or "appeals to working class," etc. So looking at things from a good and evil perspective, the ideas behind communism go under good. And the ideas behind Fascism are most decidedly evil. Particularly Hitler's Fascism, which had a lot of racism that wasn't such a part of Italian Fascism. But then, when you have something that is so much supported by nationalism--that just leads you to racism. If you think you're better, you think others are worse. And that's ridiculous because I would hate to be grouped with all of America. Countries do not have personalities, and all people in a country are not the same.

anyway. Friedman came in and was telling us that this wasn't about luck, it was about hard work. But to some extent it is luck, because there are only so many things i can write essays about, and if they aren't choices I'm in trouble. i could probably pull off the French Revolution though. . . yeah, I think I definitely could. Depending on what they ask about it. I've been looking over the 2 Industrial Revolutions, I might be able to do something on those. I can do Protestant Reformation, Renaissance, I could probably do something about causes of WWI but I don't know. . . (increased militarization, entangling alliances. . .disruption of balance of power. . . wilhelm II, the stupid brat, firing Otto von Bismarck. . . but that's not going to cut it. . . uhm. meh. I could pull it off. . .) I can do how Hitler came to power in Germany. . . I could write a good one on the Englightenment, I think. I can do post WWI society, probably, depending on what they ask. Cos I read 2 extra chapters that she said we should try if we're serious, because I care. lol. Maybe if I do a good job reviewing Chapter 31 I could do something on that.
Uhm. Whoa. Anyway. . . there are 2 groups of three, and you have to do one from each group, so if one of those is on each group I'll be ok. . . ::sigh:: I don't know. ay. uhm. well. Anyway.

you can ignore my AP-babblings on this test. I'm getting extremely repetitive, I know.

Yeah, AOL's a pain in my ass. I only use it for mail.

I'll give it to em.. their mail is the best out of all the email. It's quick and easy. But for surfing the web, I always use internet explorer.

it's good that you like yourself. that the #1 thing in life. never ever listen when people say they don't like something about you. that's their problem, not yours. unless you don't like it either.. then you can make a conscious change.

i think i've always been the type of person who never forces my opinion on others. i just never felt the need for people to do what i was doing. i'd rather people don't do what i was doing. it make me more unique.

especially when people say about peer pressure to smoke ciggarettes and weed. ive never been 'peer pressured' into those things. me and all my friends rarely even ask someone if they want a cigarette, or if they wanna hit the blunt. personally, i'd rather have it all to myself! lol.

well i'll add you on aim asap. i'll probably go on later tonight around 11ish. so if your on, i'll talk to u then. bye bye *hugs* :x

I use hotmail for LJ, and a macintosh mail service for everything else, all I get in aol is junk mail, and I use Internet Explorer for surfing, so aol is just dead weight. XP It's left over from when I first started using the internet and I hadn't gotten other e-mail addresses and all. I keep forgetting to have my dad help me get rid of it when he's home. (btw, if I'm not coherent it's because I've been reading poorly written fanfiction, and I tend to adopt the writing styles of what I've been reading. i'll try to control myself ;)

yeah, there are things that I don't like about myself, cos I'm aiming for perfection. lol. Or at least to be as good as I can. But there are just a few things, and I'm working on them.

I love being unique, and it actually gets to be a problem because I start wondering if I just like something because no one else does--like, if Harry Potter were less popular, would I like it more? But on certain things I'll try to force my view on others. Kinda. I'm getting better--now I'll at least ask them for their point of view, and then give them mine. Because most things I've thought out pretty thoroughly (I think a lot) so it gives me kinda a stronger conviction. I used to be much worse though.

i added you to aim too--usually I get off the computer at about 11 on weekends, but if my parents don't kick me off I'll be there ;)

at least you know that you sometimes force your opinions on others. some people do it without realizing. in my opinion, that's 100x worse.

i completely understand what your saying about the "if Harry Potter were less popular, would I like it more?" I think that about tons of different things. I don't want to fall into the mold.

But sometimes, things are just really good and they *should* be liked. well, we should stop posting on this one thing cuz it's gonna get really big! lol. so i'll talk to u on aim n converse with you through lj entries. k? byeee :x *hugs*
