EEEEEEEE!! Hellboy is now coming out April 2! (first it was "Summer 2004", then I heard memorial day, and now April! w00t! cannot wait!) And there's a trailer! (or here if Quicktime's no good). It actually looks really, really good. They did a fantastic job! I'm soooo excited. I hope the movie lives up to the trailer, because it does look like it's going to be great. And they did a great job translating it from a comic--especially with so many outlandish looking characters XD In looks particularly they were painstakingly faithful. They made two big storyline changes that I can see. First, and this one's fine, but the public isn't aware of the BPRD. It's more like a Men in Black-type thingie. But that's ok, because the simple, cool attitude that I love so much isn't really that realistic. People just seem to accept Hellboy, and even admire him, for the most part. So that they changed that, I can understand. And it adds another level of tension. The other one I'm not so happy about, but it's also for the tension and it makes sense and I'll accept it. In the comic, Liz Sherman (played by Selma Blair--no wonder I thought I recognized her. very pretty, very good for Liz. I think I'm pleased ;) and Abe Sapien, a total sweetheart, are in love--although it takes them until the BPRD comic "Hollow Earth" to really admit it. And they are sooo cute. And Hellboy, well, there's this whole thing with Kate Corrigan, their field supervisor and a very cool lady. But that's never acted on. I mean, I think the person he shows the most romantic interest in is the sweet little mermaid who sacrifices herself to save him in "Third Wish". And, well, she sacrifices herself, so. . . But in the movie, they have Hellboy with feelings for Liz, and then this new guy shows up and likes her too. Oy! Still, if they do a good job, I'll let them get away with it.

Meep! I'm worried. I want the movie to be really good--both for fans of the comic and new fans, and to do really well :D

Anyway, I'm feeling considerably better, although my throat is still acting funny. I'm currently sucking on a cough drop, though. And I was able to go to driver's ed, and it was OK. Then we went to the mall, and I am pretty much done with all my Christmas shopping! yay!! I need do sending and cards and stuff like that, though. And I have to finish making some stuff, but Katie is helping.

Then I kinda went to sleep and haven't done any work on my research paper yet. Eep! Am excited about Elijah Wood being on SNL tonight, though. I'm going to have to figure out what to do with the taping, though. I wonder if I should start a new LOTR tape for ROTK press. . . Maybe I'll just find an old tape that I can go over somewhat.

Wait... What does the normal looking guy do? Does he just talk? Didn't look like he did anything special. But other than that, it looks freakin' awesome! I WANT NOW! NOT APRIL!

you know, I have no idea who he is! He's a new character that they made up for the movie. In the comic, the new character is this German uhm. . . I can't remember the word. The people who hold seances. Except he was the real thing--he could send out this spirit self, and he was doing that when there was this huge massacre-thingie and his body was destroyed so now he has no body and just a special suit with a bubble head.
but, uhm. . . he's not in the movie. XD (http://www.hellboy.com/comics/bprdhe1.jpg that's him on the right. and on the left is roger, the homunculus, also left out of the movie and totally awesome character)
(in case you couldn't tell, I can just go on and on (http://www.livejournal.com/users/guingel/124200.html) about Hellboy)

as far as I could tell from the website, the normal guy is some FBI import, who didn't even know about any of the supernatural stuff beforehand. So he has no special powers whatsoever and he's the new guy and he's no in the comics. . . but he still has the nerve to make a move on Hellboy's girl. >.> Even if, I bet, Liz doesn't even know Hellboy likes her and that's not comic canon. Anyway. Yes. According to the official movie site (http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/hellboy/site/hellboy_main.html), he has no paranormal powers whatsoever.

::coughs:: I'm dangerous when I get like this XD

I can't wait til it comes out either. . . ::bounces::
