art post, other stuff
Dec. 1st, 2003 07:10 pmFirst, a plug. :D You should join
musegallery. It's a great community, for posting interesting pictures/drawings/photos, etc, and the fiction inspired by those pictures. I don't write, but I still like seeing the pics--and what people think of. It's really cool, cos people can take things in a totally different direction from the one you were thinking. And I know some of you are excellent writers, because I read your journals ;) Anyway, join, it's great fun.
So, yesterday I made pumpkin pie, and apple pie, and marlboro pudding--at Bethpage! In the brick oven at the farm! It was awesome. :D If difficult--I'm no cook. Lol. But I was working with Allison, and of course, we were just helping Gail. But sometime's Gail'd give instructions and then head off, so. . . meep. The two of us also took care of a fair amount of the apple pie filling. . . so good. But we ended up having to use a small pie pan, due to a shortage of dough (and my horrible rolling un-skillz), so it worked out great. The marlboro pudding looked really good. First we peeled and grated 6 apples. Then i creamed butter and sugar, and we added 6 eggs, the apples, heavy cream, nutmeg, and a little brandy. And it looked really, really good. . . but I had to leave before I could try any of the things I made, because we waited until we went to the staff room, and Mike wanted to leave a little early. ::sigh:: Oh well. Building a fire in the depths of the oven was very exciting also, but that was mainly the heroic efforts of Allison. ;)
Did not end up beginning my tutoring career today, as tutoree forgot his stuff at home. So, tomorrow. >.> A friend who's in the same math course as him says they're doing regression, and I'm really hoping that's not what he has a problem with, because, uhh. . . we've never done it. But she says it's really simple and is all on the calculator, so hopefully that won't be what he needs a hand with.
The slides of my portfolio came back--I need to send those out. . . Anyway, my dad scanned them all. . . but they are, in fact, huge. I'd send you to the slide show page, but it's from my dad's .mac account and the site is crawling with personal information. . . Maybe another time. They look better small, anyway. I plan to make icons out of a couple (like the bag pirate! :D). Maybe now. Although I do have this annoying thing to write up on Bowling for Columbine for gov class. UGH.
Susan modelled for me today, which was extremely nice of her. It was for my sketch for the print (lithographic?) that we're going to do. I'm working with my concentration topic, and it's one of Artemis shooting an arrow. It's cool--an action pose. So we took a polaroid of Sue so she didn't have to stay in the rather awkward kneeling and turning back position. Coolness.
Must also remember to do my french homework, as it was due yesterday and is simply finding a picture from a magazine. >.<
We made a schedule for Physics! And I never have to bring my textbook back! :D w00t!
