I first found out about k.d. lang through Rebecca's Dictionary of Queer Slang and Culture. The definition of "glamour butch" is "a butch who likes to wear fancy suits, tuxedos, etc, frequently. Think kd lang." I was intrigued, so I did a search for k.d. lang, and found her official site. . . which has a video section. After looking through the pictures available on the site, and being very intrigued, I found the videos! woooo! After "Barefoot", the first one I watched, I was hooked. In fact, I watched them so often I broke Real Player (at this point I was using the old, crappier Real Player. Real One is. . . less crappy.) and I couldn't watch them anymore! I had no more access to k.d. lang, which lead to me getting the CDs a little earlier than I might have otherwise--they were going to be a Channukah present, but I needed more k.d.!
Anyway, I tried the site a while ago, and none of the videos were working anymore! O_O They said that everything would be back up soon. But a couple months later, when I went back, things may have been back up, but I couldn't get them to play! They opened in quicktime automatically, and they're rm files. >.< And when I tried typing the addresses into Real Player, it didn't work. But today, I was messing around, trying anything--and I found that if I copied the link to clipboard and then pasted it into Real Player, it would work!! :D
::blinks:: I just gave a completely unnecessary history of my experiences with k.d. lang. XD
The point is that I am absolutely estatic! I love those videos--I missed them! Some of the songs I don't have on CD (yet), like "The Mind of Love", "Just Keep Me Moving", or "Sexuality. Plus, when you're listening to the songs, you don't get to see k.d. ;) I watched all of the videos today, except for some of the scary ones from the crew-cut, glasses, freaky clothes period. . . and even a couple of those. :D
