wheehehehee! New fandom! ::does new fandom dance:: Have been sucked into Stargate SG-1 after only 2 episodes. XD Need more! When David gets home for thanksgiving break I'm binging on the Sci-Fi channel at his house. In the meantime I have to wait til Sundays. . . luckily bethpage ends at 4 now that it gets dark earlier. (Stargate is on UPN at 5) Anyway. It all started innocently. . . I wanted to figure out what was going on, and who "Daniel" was and what happened to him and why he was visiting Jack. As it turns out, mmm, I'm a Jonas fan. lol. So then I was looking into what had happened and I found a lot of people who didn't like Jonas. ::hides:: Anyway. . .

Halloween was awesome. Went to Perin's house, got loads of candy, listened to Mamma Mia. Great weather!

I finished my essay--but it's 680 words. Augh! I can't get rid of any of them. :( I love all my words. I'm meeting with my english teacher about it ninth period thursday. Which means I'm not meeting for Physics C then, which is too bad, because the teacher had a meeting today. . . oh well. I'll talk to her sometime Wednesday (no school tomorrow! and the teachers have to be in! Favorite holiday!). And sixth period I need to go ask one of the teachers who is writing my recommendations if she needs envelopes or if she sends them to the guidance office.

Apparently there's a middle school kid somewhere near me who needs a math tutor--he's not doing badly, but his dad wants to make sure he is able to stay up? I think. Anyway, it would be two nights a week, and even though it would be a paying job (!), I said no--with college applications and everything, I don't know. . . I don't think I could do it. But now I wish I'd just asked for more information, before I declined. Except it's a teacher who I hate, so I wanted to avoid contact--meaning that I can't go back to her now. Not the contact thing, it's just that she's senile and wouldn't really understand. ::sigh:: This one's gonna eat me up for a bit.

I need to find my drivers ed textbook.

In art we're painting self-portraits with acrylic, and I had my first day of painting today (first we did sketches, and then I copied it onto the canvas in charcoal). I did an underpainting in purple, and a reddish color, and a yellow-y color. I was really worried about it, because I did want flesh tones, but I started my next layer and it's turning out great. The purple especially, which I'd been really worried about. It's a lot of fun. I love the way it looks with the underpainting. I've always thought it was cool when artists would introduce other colors, like purples and even greens, into the shadows of the face--I think it looks great, and I'd never had the courage or the skill to do it before. And I'm really liking it. I've been going very loosely, too, and just generally being able to use paint in a way I haven't really gotten to in art class.

Once, one of my favorite oekaki artists did a piece at one of the boards where they let you see a little video of the drawing, and he started out with the face almost totally red, and I was really surprised when I first saw that--it turned out totally cool and realistic. It's neat. I've wanted to try it. Yay! :D

I'm going to need to get the Coupling DVD, cos that's not on enough, and I'm always ready to watch them again. The third season isn't out on DVD yet, but the other two you can get together for $41.

You have a textbook for driver's ed? We just had the NYS Driver's Manual with that ugly picture of Governor Cuomo (Cuomo? Gad, I'm showing my age here...) in the front. I'd gotten it from DMV almost two years before I took driver's ed, but I suppose the rules of the road don't change much from year to year.

Don't college apps come with envelopes for recommendations?

yeah, it's called Driving Responsibly. We mainly use it for the homework, although I believe he loosely bases his lessons on the chapters.

the drivers manual is pretty much just for the permit test now ;)

We got our college applications off the internet, so I don't know. I don't think so, though--I've seen quite a lot of people will all these envelopes.

A-Watch out, ep 3 isn't that great, but it's the last uber-feminist thing you'll get out of Sam before she just becomes the coolest chick EVER.

B-Haha! I knew it ; )

Actually, I'm not starting at the beginning--the first episode I saw was the fourth one in season six, Frozen. Then I missed a week cos I was at Smith, and then I saw Abyss. So next Sunday I'll be watching Shadow Play, according to this (http://sgdb.theaquaria.net/SG1/Eps/default.asp?season=6).

I always get weird ideas about characters when I start in the middle. It's the same with Strangers in Paradise--if I hadn't started with the middle two issues of "Love Me Tender", I don't know if I'd like Francine so much.

Uhm, anyway. lol. After I saw Frozen, I was like, "it's cool, I kind of like it. . ." But then I saw Abyss, which has a lot more Jack in it, and I was like "This rocks!!" :D

I'm definitely going to be hijacking the TV of someone with the Sci-Fi channel. My friend, who isn't allowed to watch TV on weekdays, said that that rule wouldn't apply to me if I wanted to go to her house XD I can't wait until Sunday. . . it's too long.
