Jul. 30th, 2003 12:30 pmI did my redesigning! :D Am very happy. Actually, yesterday I redesigned, or had a hand in redesigning, no less than three journals!
guingel,
d3c3p7i0n, and
ambushbug. Oh, that reminds me. I need to finish up with ambushbug. Katie didn't like the background colors, so we had to make our own. I mean, she's going to have a background but it's going to be plain. O.o If I run out of room on my idisk. . . lol. that seems unlikely, and there's certainly plenty of stuff that I myself could take off there. Actually, i'm wondering about my background. I feel like the spots are too big. I don't know. . . The weak accent I just left the same from my old layout. lol. Damn, that was a good layout XD I seem to have good luck with star backgrounds, I remember another layout that I want to go back to.
(by the way, at Em's house yesterday, because we were running back and forth between our houses--it was pretty silly--I discovered that colors look totally different on different computers, so if my layout looks bad, uh. . . that's why ;)
I also got to use Emily's dad's mac--which still has OS 9! Because that way I can access my idisk no matter what, you know. :D It was much fun using OS 9 again ^_^)
In any case. . . yesterday huge parts of a filling came out. Actually, it was on one of the teeth I had a root canal on. Hmmm. Anyway, I feel it can't have been because of the fact that I was eating candy, because one piece came out with something hard and one with something very soft, and neither when I was biting down hard on that tooth. Also, the pieces are just way too big. I mean, my gum is exposed now. I feel that it must be because of the retainer, although I'm not entirely sure how. Because those two teeth were feeling funny. I'm kinda concerned that I'm going to get something filled in there and then have to get fitted for another retainer, because the mold part is really quite despicable. I mean, I'm definitely going to have to get something filled in. . . and it does seem likely that it'll interfere with the retainer, so. . . ugh. Oh well! This is actually on the side where I usually don't lose some of the filling (those two teeth are the bane of my existence!!). The other side is both where I got toothache first (and repeatedly) and where I've had to get it drilled I think three times--so the filling got ridiculously deep. The side where I'm losing bits of metal now is the side that was giving me such intense grief in New Hampshire last year and actually finally inspired me to get the root canals. XD Which I highly recommend, by the way. lol. Root canals for everyone! Well, I suppose you have to have as cool people as I did. Although if it's falling apart now, maybe they didn't do such a good job! I wonder if I'm going to have to go back to see them. . .
My mom got me "First Thousand Words in German" from the library. It turns out they're exactly the same pictures as "First Thousand Words in French"! Makes sense. . . I guess your first thousand words are the same essential ones in every language :) I was delighted, because I love that book. There's a duck that you have to find on every page ^_^ Mom's going to help me with pronunciation. meep!
I also just discovered that we have Roman Holiday and The Graduate (I still haven't finished Tootsie, btw) from the library.
Oh my god! Emily gave us our birthday presents yesterday! :D :D :D She gave Katie Kiki's Delivery Service, and me Castle in the Sky! YAY!! Now our Miyazkai collection is complete! I can't wait to watch them--but I have to finish both Tootsie and Orlando first. I started Orlando on. . . Sunday night, I believe. Yeah, cos David didn't have work and stayed late. I couldn't finish it because I was feeling really sick and headachy. I ended up trying to get in bed at 9:30, not being able to sleep, getting up, taking headache pills, going back to bed at 10 to discover that I had nausea also! lol. It was ridiculous, but I finally got to sleep. When i woke up at 3:15 AM, I was so excited that my headache was gone (but not so much the slight nausea, which was probably period related, as it persists!) that I couldn't get back to sleep XD At 4 I got up and wandered around, and read some stuff left over from my CATS fixation (don't ask) and ended up watching Die Another Day and eating these great cookies and drinking milk. It was extremely pleasant. I really love being up early. Which is why it's now 12:50 and I just got up. >.< Thing is, I love staying up late, too. . . and late night TV is more appealing than early-morning TV, plus, Katie's gotten addicted too and wants me to watch with her. . . then I end up staying up later on the computer. DX Also, if I nap I end up staying up late.
I really need to work today. Or at least act. lol. (not act in the actor sense, act in the action sense) Clean up--first the family room, then my room. . . read. . . find my drivers ed forms!! Although I've noticed I'm less nervous about them since I dreamed I had them--but augh! My dreams never come true! I am the anti-prophet! Well, maybe they won't be where I found them in the dream. . . one moment. Excellent! They were safe and sound in the corner cupboard. I'm going to scan them now for safe keeping.
Doesn't "corner cupboard" evoke some sort of Victorian image? lol. [I think that in my dream Emily was in my driver's ed car, which is completley ridiculous because not only has she already taken driver's ed, she also has her liscense and was driving us around yesterday! I can't spell license. . .]
Mom just got back and informed me I have a dentist appointment for tomorrow. Fantastic. But that means I can't go into the city with dad tomorrow, and I can't go on friday because that's when I'm going to Old Bethpage Restoration Village to volunteer and what-not (speaking of which, I need to try on my clothes from last year and see if they still fit) so I guess it'll have to be next week.
Anyway, I'm going to scan and then mess around with my idisk (and then katie's journal) and then check my webcomics and stuff, and then--clean up! Or maybe eat. It's unnerving eating when you know there's a big hole for food to fall into though. ICK!

Date: 2003-07-30 01:52 pm (UTC)it means that the cavity is so deep that it's reached the pulp, and the nerve is becoming infected. Root Canal Surgery involves having the tooth drilled into, the infection removed, and then being filed to remove the infected nerve.
