The Curse of the Spaetzle is upon me!!!
Jul. 18th, 2003 03:08 pmYes, that's right. I made Spaetzle. And I ate it. I ate it! AGGGH!! So if there's anything you want to tell me. . . hurry. I feel that Satan will be coming to claim my soul soon. Although it was actually Katie's idea! But I was an accomplice. I actually managed to survive without getting my hands covered with incredibly sticky gross Spaetzle dough.
They made Spaetzle on a cooking show. Look at what happens when you watch cooking shows! Katie decided she had to make it. And we like, just totally faked how much of all the ingredients to put in. Totally. Guessed. XD
And I took photos. We've documented the Making of the Spaetzle. O_O
We cursed our Spaetzle even more than the Spaetzle was already cursed naturally by bringing in Spiro T. Agnew and Richard O'Brien. Don't ask. Just. . . no.
And then we ate it! I can't believe it. lol. XD XD XD There are leftovers. So if you want some Spaetzle. . . uhm. . . what am I saying?? lol.
Katie has pointed out to me that in the space of two days, we made the world's coolest food: the rainbow brownie cake; and the world's most evil food: our Spaetzle.
In other news, our AP scores did not come. And I was totally fraking out in the time before the mailman showed up. Like, totally. Whoa.
But he came, and all the other things I was waiting for came! The "thing" from
tiggspanther arrived! :D Yay! Thank you! :) :) :) :)
Also--the Digimon DVD! Woo hoo! Actually showed up really quickly! First thirteen episodes! And the very last episode. . . Digibaby Boom! Our absolute favorite one--we thought it wasn't going to be on the DVD! So happy.
So now I only have to wait for one thing from the mailman instead of three. Nonetheless. . . want AP scores.
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH!!! Such a cool thing happened today. [I'm soo hyper and in such a silly mood!! This is what happens when me and Katie combine forces. ph34r.] I was reading about the old Superman TV show from the fifties, with George Reeves, in the DC book ("DC Comics: A Celebration of the World's Favorite Comic Book Heroes") and I was remember how awesome it is and how much I loved it, and I looked for our tapes--and I found them!! YAY!! They're from this 50 Year Anniversary Superman Festival, there was a whole marathon on channel 9. I dont' know 50 years from what, cos this must have been the early 90s or something. Anyway, sooooo awesome. And we have two tapes of it! So the "Great Ceasar's Ghost!" Episode must be on there somewhere. My absolute favorite!! XD Too funny. George Reeves is the BEST Superman, with Christopher Reeve a close second. Note similarities in names.
So, while I was looking for the tapes of this Superman TV show. . . I found tapes of the old Superman cartoon!! Like, the one that starts with superbaby, and he's in an orphanage and is being badly behaved to get rid of all the people who come to adopt him cos he wants the Kents. And there's also an episode where they go to some sort of carnival. . . I can't remember much else. XD It's the best though! So three tapes of Superman TV goodness!!! I don't even like the comic. . . but I ADORE both of these shows beyond belief. I'm absolutely giddy XD XD Am going to have Superman Film Festival. But first we're having a Digimon Film Festival!! SEASON ONE!!! (excuse my excessive use of capitals in this entry. I've eaten two things today: candy, and Spaetzle.)
Also found various other tapes containing interesting things. We have a lot of crap that we don't even realize.
Have survived the making of the Spaetzle. Thus far.
Heaven help us! XD
UPDATE: My mom got home from work, and the Terry Pratchett's we ordered had arrived. All but Pyramids. Nonetheless. . . heheh. . . that leaves us with Small Gods, Men At Arms, Feet of Clay, Witches Abroad, Wyrd Sisters, the Hogfather, Carpe Jugulum, Moving Pictures, Jingo, and the Last Continent. XD Yes, we ordered 11. But for just $4.16! wowza. I love having a librarian for a mother. lol.
I think that we may be able to balance out the Satanic-ness of the Spaetzle. . . maybe. . .

Date: 2003-07-18 01:22 pm (UTC)Ours looks even more lumpy and strange than theirs. . . I'll show pictures. We were wholly unable to grate it, so it's just. . . lumps. Definitely the lumpiest thing I've ever seen.
