Oh god. Serious tooth problems today. I don't know what happened, but lately when I've taken out my rubber bands I've felt a little crunching on my teeth, when I put them together, just at first. And then in fourth period. . . a tooth in the back that's had to be drilled several times because the filling has come out, and it's just hyper-sensitive and has given me lots of problems, well, it didn't start to hurt, luckily, but. . . it felt weird. And then it felt like it was moving. And then it felt like the filling had come loose. O_O And I took off my rubber bands--I'm afraid to put them back in. . . but I know I need to. . . I don't know what to do! Anyway, after I took off my rubber bands, when I shut my mouth it felt weird, wrong. Then I clenched my teeth. . . and it felt kinda like I was pushing something into place, cos after that it shut pretty much ok.

So that's the big news of the day. lol. I hope I'm ok! :-/ Ah dear. i'm going to get a dentists appointment at some point in the near future to get this checked out. Ah god. Quite worried--I do not want a root canal. I'm not sure what this entails, but I've gotten the impression that they are extremely unpleasant. ::sigh:: Still--it could be worse.

so basically, fourth period this happened, and fifth period was spent in a nervous state over it. Kinda good cos it distracted me. Not as bad as English's been lately, but I was trying to say something and the fucking student teacher just kinda ignored me, like she does when she hears something that doesn't like. . . fit in with what she thinks or something. Lare does exactly the same thing but worse. ah god. And we got put into groups to work with for the rest of Moby Dick O.O There's one girl in my group that I really really cannot stand. ::sigh:: But it's ok. Again, it could be worse. (my motto, lol. . . I guess it could be considered negative or whatever, but it really helps) But I can handle it.
[she's actually a lot like the teachers. . . we were discussing what the different symbols in MD mean, and we got to like, the other ships. And she sees them as obstacles. So I explain to her, in very small words, that according to the interpretation we'd been using, they are not obstacles: "Moby Dick kills and destroys them. The other ships try to lead them away from Moby Dick. Thus, the other ships are not obstacles, as they steer away from destruction." I could see where she was coming from, because Ahab wanted to reach Moby Dick, but a) they merely warned him not to, rather than actually doing anything to stop them and b) it was Ahab's goal to reach Moby Dick, not anyone else's, and it was the cause of their destruction. ::sigh:: I don't know. She's really slutty, too. Annoying. And ugly, but that's just petty of me. And she's friends with my older brother, which just pisses me off, because it turns me into the little sister, and because I care about Mike and I don't want him to be friends with this person, because she's not a nice girl. There's another girl in my group who's friends with Mike, but she's really nice and stuff, I like her.]

Oddly enough, today was the college fair, where colleges came and set up little stations and gave out brochures and whatever. Very strange coincidence.

After school David gave us more knowledge. It was really funyn cos we kept like, knowing stuff (like that William Blake wrote "Jerusalem") and he'd be like "How do you know that???" and we were like, "Monty Python!". So he thinks we should make it required viewing for Academoners. XD And we talked to the good doctor. (don't ask. he's cool, he's a freshman, we're trying to open his mind, and I think we recruited him for academons. lol. His name is Alex. . . but in Fiddler the director decided he was "Dr. Smith" (if smith was his last name) so now he's the good doctor ;)

Explanation

After three weeks in the Garden of Eden, God came to visit Eve. "So, how is everything going?" inquired God.

"It is all so beautiful, God," she replied, "the sun rises and sunsets are breathtaking, the smells, the sights, everything is wonderful,  but I have just this one problem. It is these three breasts that you have given me. The middle one pushes the other two out, and I am constantly knocking them with my arms, catching them on branches, snagging them on bushes, they are a real pain." reported Eve.

And Eve went on to tell God that since many other parts of her body came in pairs,  such as her limbs, eyes, ears, etc., that she felt that  having only two breasts might  leave her body more "symmetrically balanced", as she put it.

"That is a fair point," replied God, "but it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, so I figured that you needed only half of those, but I see that you are right. I will fix it up right away."

And God reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into the bushes. Three weeks passed, and God once again visits Eve in the garden.

"Well, Eve, how is my favorite creation?"

"Just fantastic," she replied, "but for one oversight on your part. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has a ram and the cow  has her bull, all the animals have a mate except me. I feel so alone."

God thought for a moment and said, "You know, Eve, you are right, how could I  have overlooked this? You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Now let's see...where did I  put that useless boob?"

Now, doesn't THAT make more sense than that business about the rib?

XD I really liked that one.

oh yeah--not only do i need to go to the dentist, I also have to go to the optometrist, because both of the nose-pads have fallen off my glasses. lol. This saturday for that one, I believe.

Almost done with my homework, just a few Chem questions left. whew. I'm a bit tired.

cute story
I hope your teeth are all right! O.O if you DO have to get a root canal (I hope not) I've heard that if you need it and they do it right, it's really not that bad. but i don't have much experience in these matters. teeth are scary.

whew. I hope so. It could just be that tooth's way of reminding me to pay attention to it. lol. It's extremely annoying and it hates me, but it's been feeling better, so I haven't been brushing it extra like I usually do. >.< So it's yelling at me. lol.

Root Canal

It's not one of the fluffiest things in the world, but it's not as bad as it can sound.

They just drill out any old filling, and drill further into the tooth - basically just like getting a filling. Then they use some small files to get rid of any root and stuff. Then they stick in some disinfecting medecine stuff, and then re-fill the tooth.

Can be a bit achey for a day or so, but settles down fine. I had Root Canal done on one of my teeth a couple months back, and it's not caused me any trouble since.

Eek, I hope it works out with your teeth, dearie!

Why is there always someone you hate assigned to work in a group with you? You know I'm in the same situation with the condescending bitch in my Intercult Coms class. That's just depressing. Sorry, it doesn't go away in the more "mature" environment of university. Bleh.

(Did any of that make sense?)

You should get all of the Academoners together for a party where you do nothing but watch Monty Python and eat things that are bad for you long into the wee hours of the morn. At 4am, strung out on caffeine and sugar, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is even more surreal and you find yourself trying to watch it upsidedown while snorting spiked punch up your nose and wondering whose lap your feet are in.... Or maybe that's just me.

Yeah, that version of the story of Adam and Even makes MUCH more sense. Would explain why guys are so fixiated on breasts, anyway.

Good luck getting your glasses fixed! Back in high school I sort of had a thing with my glasses. I was always breaking them. About three times a year I had to get them fixed or replaced. Good thing for warranties, eh? Almost drove my father to despair.

I think my problem is that I cannot stand a large portion of my english class, so there were very few groups I could have been put in that would have been good (or not bad). The teacher isn't the entire problem with that class, although they're blame for much of it--the rest of the class is just so stupid!! (or most of them) I think Katie has a pretty good group, so I'm ok.

(it did make sense--that's why I hate group work--especially when you can't choose the group!)

Katie says, "that's the best idea I've heard in a long time, but I doubt any of the academoners but us would go for it."
It's true. . . I can't imagine our Academons boys doing that, but it would be too much fun. Not to mention extremely interesting. lol. We should have an Academons sleepover! [you know all the review sessions our social studies class have been having? well, our class keeps suggesting that we have an AP Euro sleepover]

eep! I've scratched my old glasses and the nose pads thing and stuff--but I've never actually broken them. whew! (Katie's having some weird problems with the thingies that rest on your ears, I think she's going to get them fixed when I do)
