squeeeee!! My dad bought me the soundtrack to Les Miserables :D (The Original London Cast) The last entry I wrote before my long break from LJ was about my viewing of Les Mis. :) I've been listening to it non-stop since I got it. I haven't listened to anything else (except today in the car we listening to a little Buddy Holly--I hadn't really been exposed to him before and I really liked him :) Anyway, even just listening to the recording of Les Mis makes me cry! lol. Well, it's true. I still keep listening to it, which is interesting because I usually shun things that make me upset. This is different and special and beautiful and inspiring ;)

Speaking of which, I forgot to mention that me and mom watched this old movie over the weekend (I can't remember exactly when). It's Mr. Smith Goes To Washington. It sounds kinda silly, doesn't it? I thought so, so I didn't watch it--I was on the computer. And then I was hearing it and it was so good that I eventually got off the computer and sat on the couch with mom and watched it. Then I was going to watch the parts that I'd missed. . . and ended up just watching the whole thing over again (well, I skipped a couple of the upsetting parts). It stars Jean Arthur, who I'd never heard of but it apparently famous; and James Stewart, who was in A Wonderful Life. I've never been a huge fan of A Wonderful Life, so I totally didn't realize how absolutely adorable and cool he is! I mean, part of it in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington was the part he was playing. Anyway, it was just a fantastic movie and James Stewart was amazing--I think I started to annoy mom cos I kept squealing, "Awwww!! He's sooo cute!! And so cool! And so cute! Awwww!" (or something along those general lines) I just couldn't get over it. lol.

On Monday we went to Perin's house. It was a great deal of fun. We started out eating dessert. lol. Donuts and some fruit. Then we got started working on the decorating of Perin's new vacation house in Pennsylvania :) Katie and I are going to help with the painting. Then I faced Perin's little sister in darts. I'm not very good at all, but I enjoy it very much :) I need a dartboard.
Then we wrestled! Or, as we used to call it when we played with Mike, "rough and tumble". It was fun. Me and Zenobia got on Katie and Perin's backs (respectively) and fought. . . except she started to tickle me and I'm very ticklish, so I fell off Katie's back XD
Then we had dinner and watched Everwood. I'd never seen it before, but Perin likes it very much. It was good.

The past two days I've been taking steps toward a summer job. (Katie also, although I end up being the spokesperson) Yesterday we applied at the parks. Today we went to Jones Beach. Much filling out of applications. ::crosses fingers:: I hope I can get a job. There's one more option but I don't know very much about it. Someone we know helped out at elementary school summer school. I enjoyed doing the tutoring with Mrs. Rodger last year (btw, Katie ended up not doing it), so maybe that would be another possibility.
You know, I've been kinda filling out forms where you put different things that you've done, and I totally forgot about that. Whoops.
As I was searching for the entry where I explained the tutoring, I was reading through a lot of old entries. Wow. I can't really tell, but I seem very different. I wonder what I'll think of these entries when I'm older. I might not be able to read them ;)

Today was very full. Before we went to the beach, we went to the H.I.P. center (I don't know what that stands for. It's where we go for check-ups and what-not.) Yesterday mom found our referrals to the lab from like, a year ago. We needed to get a blood test. I remember last time we had to do this Katie made a fuss, which got me really, nervous. And then it was, obviously, not bad at all, and the anticipation was the worst part. So this year I wasn't really nervous at all. . . except. . . I'd read about someone who had problems because the nurses could never find a vein. And that had never been a problem for me before, but I was still a little nervous, cos. . . ick. And guess what happened! lol. Ah well. Anyway, it didn't hurt, but all the poking around actually made me nauseous. So they thought I was afraid, but I was actually feeling slightly faint (which had also never been a problem before!) Of course, I was also really tired. And we'd been fasting. ick. Before the blood test you needed to fast for 12-14 hours, so I hadn't eaten anything since about 7:30 the night before. XP So I was hungry. But then I was really really tired when I got home so I ended up not eating til 1.

So, we went to the beach today, to apply for a job. As I said before. And the beach has huge parking lots, which were largely empty on a cloudy, windy day like this one. So. . . I drove for the first time! :) I had been quite nervous, so I was happy to have that first trip over with. It wasn't so bad. :D I had some problems with the turning. Like, you need to turn the wheel more than I thought. I'll get the hang of it though :)

update: I got a recruitment letter from Harvard. lol. My parents are both proud and amused. :D
