another fantastically fun day with my friends yesterday :) Two of them have come so close together because today we had off! For my very favorite holiday: Staff Development Day! It's my favorite because the teachers have school and we have off. MWAHAHAHA!! (I celebrated by sleeping til 11)
So since yesterday was "mini-friday", I was able to go to rehearsal. it was fun. Then, when it ended at 6 (ugh) everyone came over to our house. We had latkes! Mom had made latkes a couple days ago for Halloween. It's tradition--usually they're the only thing that could get me away from my candy :) (actually, this year she didn't make them on halloween, but a couple days afterwards. close enough, though). I really love latkes. In fact, I know a song about them. We have this tape of Channukah songs, and one of them is "I Like Latkes".
I like latkes!
Lots of latkes!
Lots of latkes
Are not too much for me! (and so on and so on)
:D I love that song. Except they say grandma makes the very best, and my mommy makes the best latkes! My paternal grandma wasn't up to cooking much in my memory cos of Alzheimer's, and from what I've heard my mom's are better than her's anyway ;) And my maternal grandma died before I was born, and in any case, she wouldn't have made latkes, she'd have made potato pancakes. (:
Anyway, we had latkes and this noodle thing that my mom made: spaghetti, eggs, parmesan cheese, and bacon. Then we talked for a long time and it was so much fun! We had this whole conversation about how Emily (
d3c3p7i0n) talks to walls. And then we typed with our eyes shut cos I made myself special typing gloves with the fingers cut off and I wanted to try them out (I left them upstairs. oops.) and then we got starting typing with our eyes shut. Then we came downstairs and had a big Strangers in Paradise reading party!! It rocked :D But I felt that Petey/Freddy (
houndspy91fc) was getting bored so I asked him if he wanted to play spit. We played one short game on the floor which he one, and then one really, really long one on the table that everyone except Emily (who'd fallen asleep on the floor in the other room ^_^) came to watch and we got really into it and it was lots of fun and I ended up winning a little before their parents came. Then Em and Perin played a quick game.
Today I slept late, and then we went to meet my mom at work (the library) for lunch, we went to Nathan's and I had half a philly cheesesteak (the other half is in the fridge). We took a book out--The Eleventh Hour by Graeme Base. It is such a good book. There's a mystery and you solve it using clues in the pictures, and it's very beautifully illustrated and lots of fun. Some of them are difficult, but I did the whole thing. (it was much easier since I'd already taken the book out before and since there are explanations in the back for the things that I couldn't get.)
and now I'm writing a journal entry and listening to music and am going to finish my homework at some point ;) I have to rewrite a scene from Beowulf from a different point of view (I'm doing the scene where Beowulf comes to Heorot from the point of view of loyal thane Wulfgar, the herald), do the math homework, do some stuff for sports medicine, and do 1 physics problem. I think that's it. . . oh, and some French questions. XP

Date: 2002-11-06 04:19 am (UTC)I was literally about to leave the house when I signed off. I realised my Chat Program was still on, so I had to sign off quickly. I didn't have time to explain what was going on. :)

Date: 2002-11-06 12:00 pm (UTC)And I miss spaghetti carbonara with a mad, mad passion (vegetarian for seven years, and Morningstar Farms "artist's conception of bacon" just doesn't hold up in sauce situations).
The answer to the French question is "fromage." What better answer can there be?

Date: 2002-11-06 02:05 pm (UTC)my parents are vegetarians (for health reasons) but they broke the rules to eat spaghetti carbonara :)
how true. I had a couple that I left blank (cos I did them during my lunch period. . .). I should have known the answer was fromage.

Date: 2002-11-11 01:25 pm (UTC)How long are you in Germany for?
I am warned ;)
awww. . . it's dying out here, too, sadly. Paranoia and all. Apparently it's kinda catching on in France. Soon we'll all have to go there. Actually, I'm not sure if trick-or-treating is catching on, or just Halloween in general. Our French teacher gives us weird bits of information.

Date: 2002-11-12 06:44 am (UTC)And it's not they don't have halloween... just no trick or treating. It's all very odd. And rather silly. Entire city's rather silly at the moment, actually. It's Carnival Season. Help!
