finished!

I finished Emily's background. You can see how it looks on a journal at [livejournal.com profile] d3c3p7i0n.

I did from the constellation on the black row to the right end. And the bottom one, the marroon one, I did completely. I copied the picture of her face from another picture (made it the right size) and did the whole thing meself :D (which is why it looks so off). I used the "stamp" tool a lot. XD
it's not perfect, but I think it'll do, and it serves its purpose well.
I may end up adjusting the size so it fits the page better, though.
(w00t! I do still have a good place to upload pictures! I just couldn't figure out how to work it >.<)

edit taking [livejournal.com profile] diziara's advice, I've made the background friendlier for larger resolutions. And I made a couple other adjustments. Since the file name is the same as the previus one, it's simply replaced it everywhere, which is convenient :D

Me and mom watched Sliding Doors. It was really good--but I actually cried a little at the end. Not the end-end, that was good. But I felt so bad for James in the other universe!! Ack!! :-/ that was awful. (sorry if you haven't seen it. . . wait til you forget about this entry to get it ;)

We also watched Amelie (there's an accent in there somewhere, I'm just not sure where) and I liked that as well. She was so cute! And so was he! It was cool. Strange, but cool.

Katie and David are over, looking at baby pictures :)

we're going to have to rethink our plans for the week. Em--I'm thinking we don't go into NYC this friday cos of the heat (have to run this by Katie and Dave though). So we can get together then. And if you're free for dinner tomorrow (like, if you're going to general's house after dinner) then we can still go to Friendly's and drop you off there.

The heat is also why I'm not going to Bethpage tomorrow. ::sigh:: There goes that. >.< I guess I'll just have to be a lazy bum for the rest of the vacation! :D

oh yeah--new friends! ::waves::
very cool :)

I just watched Amelie finally on DVD...I wanted to go see it in the theatres however I was really busy that time of year with overtime at work and association duties. I'm surprised now that it didn't win a single Oscar because to me the film was a breath of fresh air and when you have over 150 critics agreeing, that says something with all the North American studios pandering to them to get a good review for their film.

I don't follow the Oscars, but it seems to me that Amelie definitely deserved one! It was so new and different. And really good.
