new oekaki

here's what I said about it:
hooo. this one took me 5 hours and 15 minutes. It was inspired by The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James (an annoying book, but it gave me this idea, at least) although the pictue isn't really true to the book.
My perspective is all off, but I'm pretty pleased with it.

then someone said that it looked like the children were welcoming the shadow things, so I said:
the children are welcoming them. The lady (their governess) can't see them (although sometimes she can see the ghosts) and is afraid of them. The kids have already been "turned to the dark side", despite attempts on the governess's behalf to protect them.

the shadow things aren't how the ghosts looked in the book, it was just kinda of a basis for the picture.

Wow, that's very very good. The expression on all the faces, especially the woman, give the whole thing a creepy air. And the chalk whitness of them makes it eerie. The choice of colors for this was inspired. Something about the arms of the children seem stiff, but that's a very minor fault. This is a really GOOD piece of artwork. *le sigh* I envy people with talent...

something about how it displays on a black background, with the black shadows all around, gives me the illusion that I'm in the midst of the shadows and we're moving toward the children. Which is very creepy. and very cool.

erm, have you tried photoisland.com for displaying?

hmm. . . I think I tried photoisland, but like. . . I couldn't post pictures or send people to the picture directly, because the link would change each time you went to it? If I remember correctly, I could send people to see my whole album only. And I already have a yahoo album that I could do that on (i hope. . . i haven't looked at it in a while). It's kinda inconvenient. unless it just didn't know how to do it correctly or I'm thinking of something else.

hmm. as far as I know, the big problem with photoisland is that the links die after a couple weeks/months, but they should be stable for a while at least. you have to click on the link for "link for auction" or something like that, and it gives you a link (a really ugly long one with numbers). if that isn't working, then forget photoisland.

um... also I think Bravenet allows linking images, although I haven't checked it in a while and I seem to recall it also being somewhat of a hassle to use. :shrugs: sorry, that's all I know of.
