My long-term prediction for the Jonas Brothers! One of them is going to have a total meltdown, Britney Spears style. Drugs, scandal, rehab. One of them is going to become a minister in a quiet town and raise a family that's slightly larger than normal. One of them is going to stay in the music business as a producer. I haven't figured out which one is which, but I want Kevin to be the first because it'd be too obvious if he did the second. By the way, I have watched three episodes of JONAS, mostly because of Kevin - or as I like to call him, Stoner Jonas. (Remember back in December when i was sort of into High School Musical? At the time I read an amusingly acrid summary of Jonas vehicle Camp Rock from which I stole the Stoner Jonas nickname.)

Speaking of boy bands consisting of 3 brothers, I was 11 when Mmmbop came out and I remember not hearing it or knowing anything about it but understanding there was a general sense of Hanson being lame? But I was watching 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s and first off, FAR BETTER LOOKING than Jonas. Seriously, the long hair was kinda silly, but Jonas - especially older Jonases - are just not good-looking enough to be boyband heartthrobs! Being into Johnnys has probably raised my expectations in this area. Anyway, Hanson actually aged really well, I was surprised.

I had the day off and watched trashy TV for a while, in case you were wondering.

Which brings me to my third random American pop music tidbit for the day. Now, I'm no expert, but doesn't it seem like Justin Timberlake is really well-placed, pop culturally? He seems to be occupying a really good spot in a lot of different ways. His music career seems to be doing well? And he's a freaking hottie. And he seems to have respect as a legitimate whatever. And even though he has the whole boyband past, it seems like it would be cool to say you're a fan of his, for guys and girls? I guess that's what I mean. His music, his SNL appearances, whatever, it seems like a large group of people could claim to be fans of his and still be cool. Although I'm not one of them, in that I have no idea what his music actually sounds like. . . this is a theme of all the groups discussed in this entry, by the way, although I did eventually hear Mmmbop. Anyway, I'm obviously not qualified to talk about this, but that's the impression I get.

However, mostly today I was not watching TV but rather doing one of the following things:
1) One of my favorite websites for ::ahem:: erotic fiction is back on the internet after being down for a year or something ridiculous. SO LONG. So I ::ahem:: reignited my relationship with the works therein.
2) Somewhat related to the above, I napped a couple times. I seriously needed the bonus sleep, though.
3) Not at all related to the above, I watched Daily Show clips. It was a little cycle.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to go to the fireworks (NYC fireworks over the Hudson) with friend!Charles, but I kind of don't want to. It's going to be crowded and I can only assume will involve a lot of staring upwards. I'm meeting him for dinner by his place beforehand so I'm thinking maybe I can do that and then just wimp out home, or make sure I can leave the fireworks early. The problem is I was the only person available to go with him - both of us are experiencing a friend exodus - so I don't know. XP

All right, I think I'm back to phase 3 in the cycle. May also add ice cream. (Food today: half a box of a french version of Cadbury Fingers, a bowl of ramen, a king-sized Milky Way bar, and unagidon. When I ordered it the woman was like ". . . you know that's eel over rice, right?" XD)

So many updates lately! I don't know what's up.
