dramas from various time periods

Is anyone watching Osen? People must be, right? I just don't feel like I've been hearing anything about it. Anyway, Katie and I have just watched the first two episodes and I totally love it so far!! Possibly because I'm in love with Aoi Yu. And her hair. She's so cute and charming! If her character wasn't such a drunk she'd be even more charming, but even as is I find her very interesting as a character and totally enchanting. And Uchi's pretty. Even though his character is a dick. But yeah, so far I'm really enjoying the show. Of course, I loved Haikei, Chichiue-sama, and this kind of feels like a really similar show but intended to be more popular. But yeah, shows about old-style Japanese restaurants are cool. XD I just hope Uchi doesn't quit in every single episode.

I've also been watching Yamaguchi's parts in Dousoukai, his 1993 gay naked drama with gay!Taichi and gay!Sakamoto, at an extremely slow-loading Chinese site. WELL WORTH IT. He's so naked and gay and uke. UKE YAMAGUCHI. And so young. Holy crapsicles. And Sakamoto wears a bandana and sometimes Taichi wears a little red hat. And there are shower scenes.

And I just watched Mukodono 2003 and really enjoyed it! I started the original and had to stop because his wife's sisters all pissed me off a lot, but they weren't that bad in the 2003 one. Or I'd built up a resistance. PLUS. I looooooooove Matsushita Yuki, who I first saw in Yoiko no Mikata. She plays Suji-san the manager in Mukodono 2003 (but isn't in the first one) and is just soooooo pretty and so classy and cool. And, uhm, Nagase is hot.

Interlude: there's this doll that was given to me by my cousin when I was pretty young, so I've had her as long as I can remember. And she's more or less baby-shaped, but she's soft and covered in plush. She's actually a Hugga Bunch doll, I think her name was supposed to be Huggins. But she has a hospital-type bracelet on with her name on it, and I saw the Huggabunch side first so that's what I call her. So, yeah, Huggabunch was my favorite doll for my entire youth, and then at some point at a sleepover, I suddenly noticed that her eyes followed you wherever you go, and we all sort of noticed that she actually looked really creepy and now I can't keep her around anymore. Except we were just cleaning out my closet and she's now sitting across the room from me staring at me. I don't understand it. She went from being my favorite doll that I took with me whenever I went on trips and everything, to all of a sudden totally freaking me out.

Back to dramas: I rewatched a bit of Yamada Taro and Tiger & Dragon this week, too. Am suddenly way more attracted to Itoh Masaki than I've ever been before. I think it's because I saw her in the SMAP segment that je_mix_fansubs subbed, where KimuTaku was trying to make her heart beat faster. (::miniswoon::) I think she had slightly more meat on her bones or something, but whatever it was, she looked healthier and therefore way hotter and now I'm all "oh my god she's so attractive." Yamada Taro is still hilariously awesome, if anyone was wondering. XD Katie hadn't seen it and I kept references things so we watched the first two episodes and enjoyed it immensely. Nino's a riot.

Am really excited about the new Drabo. Gangster-turned-mangaka, the part Mabo was born to play! Also, I love when TOKIO members have new dramas, just on principle. ^_^
