So, since I posted about the Clash and the ice skaters, I've gotten a new obsession. It hasn't really replaced the Clash, they're too amazing and my interest is definitely holding. But it has more or less completely eclipsed my interest in the ice skaters, not that I'm not still very attracted to Alexei and Johnny.

Anyway, the new love of my life is Firefly, the short-lived series by Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. And I'm a very big fan of both shows, and have been for about two years now. But I actually genuinely think that Firefly is a much better show than either of those two--I sort of felt that with Buffy and Angel sometimes you had to be in love with the characters to get past the occasional goofiness of the shows, sort of? It's hard to explain, because they are really well-written--and the characters are so awesome and I am in love with them. But there's just something about Firefly that makes it, while incredibly funny and entertaining in the way that we can rely on Joss for, also more. . . more deserving of my respect, if equally deserving of my love. It seems a little more sophisticated.

Anyway, the point is that I like it even more than Buffy and Angel, and that's the only way I can describe how much I love it! I ADORE this show. I've been watching it non-stop--I'm going to have to buy myself the DVDs cos I've been borrowing [livejournal.com profile] borgin's for the past two weeks or something and I feel really bad, but I can't stop watching them, and I have a few more episode-y things and a few more commentary things to watch! And then I'll return it, I swear.

character-loving. and lots of gushing about Sean Maher, my huge new crush!! )

So, yeah. I've been crushing on Sean (and Simon) just all the time lately.

But I managed to take a break from the Firefly today to enjoy the good weather! After brunch I went to a playground with Borscht, Monkey, and Pembroke and we had such a great time! It was awesome!! :) We relaxed in the sun on blankets, and I did a little work on my Jewish Texts and Traditions midterm (blech). And we played some catch (which we also did yesterday afternoon--so much fun!) and we played on the playground equipment! We swung and played on the seesaws, and tried to balance on the seesaws with moderate success. And then we relaxed in the sun and talked and it was so great! ^_^ lalala!

Also, yesterday at about 1 AM we went to 7/11, where I got three different flavors of Ben & Jerry's ice cream! It was a great trip. I love late-night outings, and I love that Northampton is safe enough that we can go on them on foot. I mean, the problem is that everything's closed. At home we could go to the diner, that's even more fun. But it was a lovely night, and walking to 7/11 was awesome. And then on the way back I impressed Borscht with my monolgue skills. I kept up a constant monologue for about 15 minutes. I don't know. Just, completely non-stop talking. i'm usually quite a talker, but this was impressive even for me. Especially at 1:30 in the morning!

So, after I finish this I'm going to go down to Borscht's room for an ice cream flavor taste-testing party. And then I'm going to look for more pictures of Sean Maher and read more fanfic, and also hopefully get some reading done! So tomorrow I can write my take home test and my cover letter. XP Oh well.

Apart from schoolwork, life is good!
