what a good day I'm having! it's amazing! check it out:

period 1. (oh, first--I got a good night's sleep and mom gave us a ride to school because we had soda for the afternoon) my math teacher was absent so we just did some practice problems in our groups and it was nice and relaxing. Two of my group members weren't there yesterday but we were able to catch them up quite easily.
period 2. only little damper on my day--social studies test ::winces:: but I did a lot of studying last night and I think it paid off. There was at least onoe question that I knew I only got because I studied--I reviewed the multiple choice we've done, and this was a question straight from those practice ones.

periods 3-5. Academic competition #1! lol. This was for the "It's Academic!" League. O.o Yes, that's what it's called. lol. But anyway, we did really well there! We were in the lead the whole time, and the final scores were 44, 30, and 26. And I knew that we'd want to see the questions later, and sometimes David wants them, so I was actually able to write down almost every single question and the answer and who got it (or if no one got it, I wrote that too). I missed about. . . 10 out of 150. :) Plus, for period 3 friedman had to give the test to another class, so he wasn't there, and instead Miss R, the "assistant coach" who we all really love, who rocks my socks, was presiding. And I felt really good about that, not just because she rocks but because I always feel like I have to apologize to the other teams for Friedman and we were kinda able to prove that not all our teachers were idiots.

period 6: since we'd missed our lunch periods, friedman excused us from 6th period also! That's art, and normally I wouldn't be thrilled about missing art, but I dislike the teacher, and there's a girl who often sits with us and talking to her kinda depresses me, because she's so self-absorbed and like. . . all the things that are bad about conservatives. I'm not really sure how to describe it. She's a jap, but at the same time she's kind of a wannabe. And she's just really selfish. Her theory on a lot of things, and this is basically in her own words, is that "Well, I have it. And if someone else doesn't--too bad for them." (this applies to money, intelligence--debatble, btw--talent, family, etc) And I'm done with the project, so I wasn't really missing anything. So me and Katie wandered around and went to the store and bought chocolates.
period 7. physics. we did practice problems and I think I grasped it fairly well :)
period 8. My physics teacher is the chairperson (she's also Miss R, and the other Miss R. . . actually, the Academons Miss R is really Mrs or Ms R. . . ah well!) (and Ms. R is the assistant chairperson, so things are really good. The previous science chairperson was awful and he just got fired this year. I feel bad though, because some teachers left because of him, and then he was fired. ack.) so she had to go to a meeting, and we watched a video and did a write up.
period 9. another movie! we're watching Kenneth Branagh's (i've no idea how his last name is spelt) Hamlet. . . it's interesting, but I'm seriously beginning to ph34r him.

then, after school. . . Academic Competition #2! lol. This is Quizbowl. There's a varsity and a JV team for quizbowl, and each has 4 people, so you need a minimum of 8 people. We had 7. owwies. But we went anyway, and varsity played with 3 people. . . and won 94 to 50! w00t! I was proud :)
And JV won! But by a small margin and we were losing most of the match. The other team was cool though.

So Academons had a sweep! It was great!

And we successfully got ourselves a ride home, because no one was home and we don't want to walk half a mile in the dark. So Isaac drove us home and it was cool.

And I'm almost done with my homework, and I get on the computer and I find that my friend Rhona now has a livejournal: [livejournal.com profile] rhonio . :) woo hoo!

So it's been a good day.
