work and SEISYuN
Nov. 11th, 2007 02:05 pmSo. . . that last time I wrote was Wednesday morning, right? Well, Wednesday afternoon, I found out I have a 10 page (semi-)final exam to write in addition to the 4 page paper and 8 page research paper I was already feeling a bit stressed about. But to have to write two 4 page papers and a 2 page paper (which is how the final is broken down) on top of that. . . is insane. And I've had papers due at the same time before, and I've been able to handle it, but I've always been able to start things before-hand. Two of the assignments I'm only receiving with one weekend to complete them before they're due. Which is INSANE. It would be ok at another time of year, but Smith professors should know that we always have a lot of work to do right before Thanksgiving. Everyone always does. I can cope with them giving the assignments to be due on that date, but it's just insane and slightly sadistic and obnoxious not to give the assignments to us with enough time to start on them early - it's two professors that I normally like, but I'm sort of filled with bitterness at the moment. One of them would take that very seriously. ::rolls eyes::
So the only one that I can work on is the research paper, so I want to write about half of it today (we'll see - I fucking hate writing papers, and writing research papers is even worse) which means I've really had to rush through my research. I have about 14 pages of notes, though. ::sigh:: Anyway, it's about Paul and the Law and the redefinition of covenant and people of God. I haven't written a paper about Paul since first year, so I'm actually a little happy about that. I missed him. Paul is my secret lover, by the way. He's sort of the Otto von Bismarck of Christianity. Sexy. XD
Anyway, yeah. I haven't posted between Wednesday and now because I was too freaked out to do so. I could barely even think about the work I have to do in the next week and a half. Now I'm feeling slightly more in control, but still freaked out - mostly cos I really do loathe writing research papers. ::sigh:: it's a rough draft, but it's getting peer reviewed - like, we're devoting two classes to sitting around discussing each other's papers. I know it's a valid technique or whatever, it just feels like torture. :(
So unhappy. I hope I can really get stuff done today.
In the meantime, the world is suddenly really full of videos I want to download and I don't have time to watch any of them, so my hard drive is slowly filling up.
Speaking of which, does anyone have a version of the 04-05 countdown with backstage footage, or know where I can get it? I'm going to make inquiries at je_requests at some point, but I thought I'd ask.
Also, uhm. I did manage to find time to watch the SEISYuN PV about 25 times. (It would be more, but, you know, research.) It's so good. I'm too stressed to be properly enthused about it here, but. . . I love it. It's so sexy, and, like, I know TOKIO is sexy but it's just so satisfying to see it properly portrayed, or something. It's like, finally we get to see them at their maximum sexy potential in one go, rather than mentally realizing it. It's like a hardcore burst of sexy. Also, Taichi in glasses. (I'm crazy about boys in glasses.) And, uhm. Yeah. Yamaguchi cooking. I feel the rest of it speaks for itself. Or other people are speaking for it. (Mabo!) But I did make one screencap:

OK, so. . . I actually just paused it on this point by chance and I was like "What?" so I screencapped it in my charming macintosh shift-command-4 way. It's almost as if Leader is actually cool and sexy. But that's, like, funny in its own way, cos it's so clearly out of character for him. XD Totally awesome. A fascinating and satisfying PV.
I'm really glad it was released just as I was hit with waves of evangelical TOKIO fervor. If this doesn't get people interested. . .
(P.S. for those of you totally out of the loop, you can watch it here and download it here. Do it!)
OK, back to work. :(
Also, geez, look how saturated that icon is. XD They tend to fade when I save them so I've started supersaturating them before I save and this one I just went crazy and then was too lazy to re-save it. They look nice and, uh, sunburned. Anyway, still a hilarious picture.
Edit: Hahahaa! I just looked at my actual homework for tomorrow, and it's a lot of reading in a book I don't even have cos it came to the bookstore late and I just never bought it. XD Although the bookstore is closed all weekend, so I couldn't have bought it even if I looked at the assignment earlier. Haha, and I work from 9-12:30 tomorrow, and class starts at 1. I can go buy it after work. . . it's one of the professors I'm pissed at for only giving us the last week before thanksgiving to do the 10 page final, and then saying he doesn't want to give us more time to do it after thanksgiving because he wants us to be able to relax and unwind over the break. O_O ::vibrates off chair:: (except I'm totally ensconced in bean bag chair ^_^) Anyway, I might also leave work an hour or half an hour early, cos they said they would be flexible about my schoolwork and I told them on Friday that I would possibly work less hours these last weeks before thanksgiving. Also, maybe I can make it up Wednesday morning. . .

Date: 2007-11-11 10:49 pm (UTC)I really need to diet/exercise though, in a month I'll be in Tokyo entertaining...well, entertainers, so I need to be in tip-top shape seeing as everything in Japan is all about image, and I can't afford to have someone thinking I'm fat or ugly or whatever. -_-;;;; (Haha, yeah, me, "fat" rofl, what a laugh. >>; But then again, Japanese association of beauty and conception of what is thin and what is not, is very, very fucked up....)
Just ... space yourself well. It's all about time management!!!

Date: 2007-11-11 10:13 pm (UTC)But yeah, I dunno. I just have a hard time, like, gathering all the information in my mind and synthesizing it. I always end up citing too much. We'll see. XP
