quick update--i haven't had any time lately. I only glanced at my friends page yesterday, I couldn't really read anything, but I'll read through everything as soon as I get a chance.

I didn't get home til 6 yesterday, and I spent the ENTIRE evening doing the most shitty, fucking stupid, moronoic and words that I cannot think of, social studies review assignment. It took forever and I got absolutely nothing out of it. So I'm kinda pissed.

But anyway. . . the reason I didn't get home til 6 was because of the Faculty Challenge!! (which is like one of our academons competitions, but it's teachers vs. students) First there were 6 different student teacher match-ups in 6 different rooms. And then the highest scoring student team and the highest scoring teacher team go to the finals.

Well, I had such an awesome student team. This kid Lee, and then Aron and Adam, who are both very very cool. :D :D :D And Lee knew a LOT (he was our resident senior) and Aron, of course, knows sooo much :D and me and Adam chipped in when we could. I think that around 5 of our points were because of me. :) And I never lead us astray.
So! We won the first round against the teachers 35-34! :) whooo hooooo!!! I was sooo proud of us! There was a question about who in Greek Mythology is the messenger of the gods and also the goddess of the rainbow, and it was Iris, and I knew it! Aron didn't believe me--he asked if I was sure, and I told him I was positive! :D (that was just cool because they're always asking rainbow questions at these things, and it's never that one, which I actually know!) And I actually was all over most of the Greek questions. whoo hooo! Cos sometimes they ask about Agammemnon and Hector and what-not, and them I don't know about.
The teacher team was really nice also. We were a nice room. Some of the other rooms were being really strict about the rules, and there was bad feeling between the two teams, and all that. But we were nice. And the reader(s) were nice! :D Because we ended up with 2, around half way through the match, and they alternated reading. The first reader is pregnant, and she was saying that she hoped her baby would absorb the knowledge. And sometimes the questions will have random facts (like, "the largest city in texas is houston. what is the largest city in alaska?" it might not be houston. I can't remember.) and we were asking what those random facts and for! And she said it was for the baby ;) lol.

So anyway, our team ended up being the highest scoring student team. . . and we had to go to the finals!! O_O We didn't do so good there, but that's to be expected. That teacher team is really really good. Which I wouldn't mind, except that they're also mean. (one of them, at least) But! Maybe they just wanted to keep things moving, but they kept their mouths shut :D And even though we lost, it was fine, it was fun, adn we all shook hands ;)

Mike actually has two of the teachers I played against in the first round. lol. So I'm telling him to tell them it was a pleasure playing against them.

ok, I really have more to write about, and I'm sure i won't remember it later, but I need to change my shorts to pants and put on sneakers, I think. It's all rainy.

got very little sleep last night. XP

The Faculty Challenge sounds fun... My primary school did one once, but no-one would let me be on the team. Which was a shame, because there's nothing funnier than showing your teachers how much they don't know... >:)

And all they ever wanted to do at my first high school was have sports matches against the staff. Gack. Couldn't think of anything more ghastly... I always used to go and hide in the library with a book, ostentiably helping the librarian, just so that I didn't have to watch the silly things!

at primary school? really? geez, I wouldn't have known anything at that point! (if that's the same as elementary school. . . I'm all confused)

ahh, what we did was have a sports match between teachers from all the different schools in the districts. (elementary, middle, senior) it was interesting. . . if I was in your place I'd have hidden too!
this is organized by Academons though, not the school--and we use the questions from one of the competitions we're in. (i mean, not ones we've used before or anything)

Good for you, going on to the finals! Bravo!

When we played Cranium sunday night, my team overruled me on one question, and I turned out to be right. I hate when that happens! I'm was almost sure I was right, and I said so, but I guess I wasn't forceful enough. Two people thought it was B, and I thought (was almost sure!) it was A, but we guessed B. It was A. Darn it! At least everyone knew I was right though. (:

:D
Cranium! that's a fun game! I'm really good at the Senso-sketches :)

I hate it when everyone doesn't listen to you--but even more than that I hate it when I lead people astray. >.

yes--I'm very relieved he kept his mouth shut during our match!
