oh my god. I am going insane. O_O ::shivers::
OK, well, when me and Katie were in elementary school, there was this tree that we'd walk past every day. And it had roots that you could walk on very easily. So we did, every morning and every afternoon, we'd walk over the roots of this tree. Cleverly, we called it the Root Tree. lol. Well, the people who own the tree chopped it down!! :( :( :( (it wasn't on their lawn, it was on that strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street) Me and Katie were devastated. This was when we were in 7th grade, I guess. And we didn't walk past it anymore cos it wasn't on the way to the bus stop, but I was looking forward to walking on it again in high school. lol.
OK, so you know those sidewalk squares that are on corners and are shaped like Nevada? To fit in the corner? Well, there's one of those on our way to school. And we needed a new ritual to replace the Root Tree. So now, whenever you step on the Nevada square, you say "Nevada." (there's a crack running through it too--the famous Nevada River ;) And I still do that. Katie doesn't, but our friends do when they come over our house. lol.
So during dinner last night the phone rang, and I was up pouring milk, so I was near the phone, and I picked it up.
And I said, "Nevada?"
!!!! In exactly the tone of voice I would have used to say "Hello?" only I said nevada. I don't know why. It's really scary. And it was my brother's friend Matan, but I couldn't go back on the phone after that, I passed it off to my dad who gave it to Mike. Geez. I'm afraid. I'm losing my mind. And as I was writing this the phone rang so I had to wait and collect my thoughts and I very tentatively said ". . . hello?". But I did say hello. And not like, tennessee or something. O_O Ack!!

Anyway, that was longer than I thought.
We have some pictures back from the wedding, so I'm posting one of me in my dress and one of the back of my head.

that's in our front lawn. I think the irises look really nice. (I've liked irises so much more after reading The Life Story of the Flash ;)
Uhm, and we couldn't wear bras, so. . . yeah. . .

and here's the back of my hair. Isn't it a trip and a half?
I like the picture, cos I can see it. Isn't that wild?? :D I've got a lot of hair!

Nevada, hmm? I like it. You could just go with it and always answer the phone like that and people would think you're weird, but not insane if you're doing it on purpose.

Isn't it interesting what strange things our minds come up with? My mum calls them "brain farts." One of the reasons I'm really interested in behavioral neuroscience is because I want to understand these weird things that people say and do. Somewhere in your brain a neuron crossed or misfired or something and I'd love to know how, where, and why.

Cute pictures! You look really good in the first one. And your hair is pretty cool in the second one. Neato.

lol. hmm. people would always know they'd gotten the right house, that's for sure.

ahh, I call it a brain fart when I totally blank out on something. Or when I said "rendezvous" instead of "deja vous" the other day. I was so embarassed!! DX
Behavioral neuroscience does sound extremely interesting to study. Brains are so mysterious. Like, how a connection of neurons can make us who we are or however it works. How I think and what I do seems so unconnected from synapses and what-not.

thank you :) I like the pictures too.

Thanks! I wish I could wear my hair like that to school someday. . . I doubt that even the woman who did it in the first place could replicate it though. Ah well. (replicate? duplicate? whatever.)

Cool pictures :) And FYI... when you have a dress you can't wear a bra with you go some place like Frederick's of Hollywood, and get the stickies!

I know, me and Katie were going to (or rather, our aunt was going to, she knows about this sort of thing) but since we aren't incredible busty it was easier for us to just go without. I wasn't uncomfortable, just overly visible. lol.

Y'know, despite the comment you put under the picture, it wasn't really that noticeable until you pointed it out.

better to explain and have attention drawn to it than not to explain and have poeple notice it. I think. lol. It's kinda like me pointing out all the flaws in my pictures. . .

Also, as long as a dress doesn't go further down the back that about halfway, it is actually possible to get bras that have a really low strap at the back, so it's hardly noticeable.

And I only know this 'cos of when a friend of mine at Uni wore a dress to the Ballroom Dancing Society Xmas Ball that was half-backless.

yeah, one of the other bridesmaids did that, but she had some problems because the back was a little too low.

I only try to answer the phone weird when I'm at work, so maybe they'll hang up. When I was at Wendy's, I'm surprised I didn't get fired from all the stuff I said while working drive thru. Heh.

Nice pics, by the way.

lol. now there's a good plan. although if someone started to say weird things to me while I was at a drive through I'd freak out and get all confused and upset.
At one point me and mom were yelling at Katie, and then the phone rang, so she picked it up and yelled, "WHAAT??"
my friend (who had called) was scared.

thank you :) (same to you--nice icon)

I always find it funny when my mom is yelling at me, then answers the phone with her normal, pleasent "Hello?"

lol. yeah, I definitely cannot do that.

Hee. At least it wasn't your parents saying random things down the phone... When I still lived at home, mine tended to tell anyone who called for me that I was on the roof, cleaning the drainpipes. Or in the garden, mucking out the pigs... ¬_¬

And the occasions I call home, they go sotto voce and announce: "Hello! Battersea Dogs Home!" or pretend to be the local take-away... *cringes*
