I did some minor friends list cleaning--I'm thinking about becoming more active on livejournal again, and that means getting back to my original policy of only having friends on my friends list--or at the very least, people whose entries I enjoy reading. So, uh, sorry if I took you off and you're actually reading my entries and care--I'll add you back, if you want.

In other news, I'm halfway done with the short paper that's due tomorrow at 3. It's going well. I also put my fridge in the hallway to be picked up tomorrow morning. ::sniffle:: good-bye fridge! I sorta started packing but not really. my room is a godawful mess, though.

On Friday night we (Borscht, Monkey and I) went into town to get gelato and we went to the used bookstore and I got myself two new Peter Pans--one of them has Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, I'm really excited! And I got some presents for Katie, which I won't write here just in case! And after we got back from gelato-ing, Monkey was really tired but Borscht and I still had energy, so we thought we would take a walk around the campus, as it was a lovely night!

I wanted to check out some of the houses that I haven't seen before, and Borscht wanted to find Sessions Annex, which is where Monkey is going to be staying the next couple weeks (it's all very complicated). So we headed over to upper elm (a mystical and far-off part of the campus that I don't know that well). On our way over, we saw a mysterious green light on a building we were passing, on the second floor. It was really bright. And we noticed that it was coming from the other side of Elm St, down the block that we wanted to head down. So we go towards it. And as we approach Elm, the light gets in our eyes, it's very bright and very green and moving around a lot. It looked like the source was in pretty much the same place, it was just swiveling all over, very irregularly. We were very curious as to what it could be!

So we cross the street, and start heading towards it. We got sidetracked by checking out a few buildings, but eventually we get over to the end of the street where the light was coming from. We now see two lights, but smaller. They're about ten feet away, maybe, but behind some bushes. We'd see them, then they'd blink out for a couple seconds, then they'd appear a few feet away. It was wild!

Then, we got over to the lights. . . and they're completely gone. Absolutely nothing that possibly could have been a light source. Nothing! We go all the way down the block, and nothing. That was possibly a mistake because by that point we were beyond the smith campus and it was about 11:30 at night and really dark. We felt very brave.

The light had completely disappeared. But then we started seeing green light everywhere! We thought we saw green reflections on cars, but there was nothing that could have caused them! We saw green light on a lawn, but it was far away.

Total mystery.

Anyways, it was very exciting. And then on Saturday, that would be yesterday, Borscht and I shopped til we dropped! It was exhausting! But I am almost done with my gift buying. I just need to get something for Dad at the Smith bookstore tomorrow.

And then we watched Sixteen Candles! XD AWESOME! Jake Ryan truly is the perfect man. ::sigh:: what a dreamboat! ;)

And we got Wishbone from the library!!! Hound of the Baskervilles and Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Score! :D We haven't watched them yet--probably tomorrow.

Anyways, back to work. I am writing about Sayyid Qutb, and how his isolationist view for Islam does not mean he doesn't believe in conflict with the West, as opposed to Muhammad Iqbal, who wanted to use modern ideas to make Islam better and stronger, but saw no need for conflict with the West!

Also--I have 25 new userpics! almost all from Comic Books except for a couple of The Clash. :D And one of the Band! Huzzah!

sure! I'm just finishing up my paper so I can run it over to Suleiman, and then I'll be off. I'll stop by.

I wasn't sure what would be a good "joint pads getting icon" so I went with Nightwing and Superman because they're an awesome pair just like us. :D

P.S. I just overheard the best conversation from the guy who took my fridge, on his cell phone. He has the thickest generic working class accent ever, and he was talking about how he wasn't playing games in the relationship anymore and how he did soul-searching and he was ready to be serious, but it had to be just the two of them in the relationship! (the tramp!)

Aww! Yay fridge-man! That's so sweet! She's so a tramp but at least he's a good guy. He can find someone else if she wants to sleep around, so there, tramp-girl!

Note the Josh-sweetness of my icon. Semi-appropriate...I couldn't think of a "joint pads getting icon" either. *grin*

Monday funday!

we watched Legend of Sleepy Hollow, but I figure we'll watch Hound of the Baskervilles some time tomorrow. Although we're all planning on taking exams, so I'm not sure when, if people are taking evening exams and stuff. But I'll give you a call, or get in touch with you when I know more.

And there's lots more at the library--I will watch Wishbone with you anytime, anyplace. It was still SO AWESOME! That little dog knows how to get things done.
