Happy Mother's Day!
May. 8th, 2005 11:06 pmWell, I had a lovely mother's day. I hope all of you can say the same. I woke up at 10:30, went downstairs, gave mom her present (see previous entry ;) which she liked very much. . . then went back to sleep until 2. :D Maybe even 2:30. Then I had lunch. . . actually, I'm getting the munchies, so I might go downstairs and have some more of my leftover soup. But maybe I should save it.
Anyway, I then bathed, woo! and walked to the grocery store with parents. We bought donuts, milk, pickles, oreos, and reese's pieces. XD A good shopping trip. Well, I really needed milk. They only had skim at home!
Then mom and I watched Almost Famous, then we made waffles for dinner, and then we played Trivial Pursuit. We stopped when each of us (me, Mom, and Dad) had gotten 2 pieces. I was very proud of me--usually I only do well in Trivial Pursuit when I'm in a large team. ;) And I knew a question about the Sex Pistols! Unfortunately, it was my mom's question. Dang. I was impressed with myself anyway. Although, any time British punks are mentioned, I'm just automatically going to think of the Sex Pistols. Although I've decided that I don't like the punk, grunge, or skater scenes. :D
After the game, we watched a very strange episode of Secret Agent. Patrick McGoohan rocks my socks!! He's awesome. And the show really is quite good. Especially when you watch it with the Avengers (which is what I did during spring break). Cos they're both 60s spy shows, and Secret Agent just has far better plots. (but far less Diana Rigg. Sadness.) This one, however, was kind of. . . annoying in a couple of plot holes. Cos it was supposed to be this secret organization of political extremists, but the way they recruited people to do their dirty work for them was just idiotic and it was bothering me. So not up to their usual standards, but still entertaining. Due to high levels of Patrick McGoohan. What with him being the star. The name "McGoohan" alone is worthy of applause, and when it belongs to such a sexy person. . . I'm helpless to resist. ;)
Also, we have it taped off public television in the 80s, when NY's public television station was 31 (now it's 13, or WLIW 21. . . maybe some others--mostly 13) and it was headquartered in my building! Well, my old building. ::sniffle:: Anyway, it just kills me when they have the Secret Agent sweepstakes and you're supposed to send your answers to three flights above where I used to work. Especially cos the elevators only go to two flights above me--they're in the weird little annex thing. So I totally thought that it was the Secret Agent headquarters until my parents explained. And it makes sense, cos my building is the Municipal Building, but still.
Anyway, yes. Patrick McGoohan is awesome, and did a voice (his voice is so sexy investiga-awesome!) in Treasure Planet (of course, he did the voice of Billy Bones, so maybe they weren't going so much for the sexy), which is one of roommate!Corey's (::sniffle:: ex-roommate Corey) favorite movies, and we had a bit Treasure Planet poster on our wall all year, so I was kinda excited.
So, good times. I'm going to go ponder soup.

Date: 2005-05-11 02:54 am (UTC)but in the meantime, I will console myself with donuts. :D Yay for breakfast!!
It's odd, cos I never considered my house to be a place with good snacks. I think it's a law that other people's houses have the best food. Like. . . a drawer full of Swiss chocolate. O_O
