mostly buffy/angel-related
Apr. 23rd, 2005 02:06 amOK, you know what's really weird? The way Smile Time, the puppet Angel episode (of Angel, for those of you unfamiliar with the show) is so insanely adorable and hilarious and just kills me laughing every time I look at puppet angel. . . and also the creepiest thing ever! I mean, when they muted the sound and what was airing on the TV screen (not mine, the one they're watching in the show--in case anyone unfamiliar with the episode is still reading) changed?? I find that soooo creepy. Possibly even the tiniest bit creepier than that poor puppeteer. I mean, ick. And he was so sad! It was so creepy. But no, that TV thing. Augh! Oh, and the smiling children. Sweet jesus! Yeah, that episode is incredibly creepy. Like, insanity. And it's also just cute beyond belief. His nose comes off! Oh, it's just so squee-worthy! I love it!! (and it scares me at the same time!)
I guess it's one for the philosophers. Xeno's Paradox and Smile Time, Angel 5:14. Yeah.
Also, I adore Alexis Denisof. Usually I have more pronounced crushes on characters rather than on real people, but he's just so cute and charming and such a good interview! And has such an adorable American accent. I think this gives new insight into the accent fetish phenomenom (which I've always tried to ignore. . . it's a little complicated) because I just adore hearing him talk with his American accent. (this does not hold true for James Marsters, however. But then again, I don't have a crush on James Marsters.)

Also, he's married to Alyson Hannigan, which is just too cool for words.
Oh, speaking of Buffy!
sarah_p, forever sealing her title as best HP ever, willed me gifts at Senior Banquet yesterday. But I couldn't go, so she left them outside my door--for me to find this morning, which is just so awesome and fun, yay presents! And she gave me two packets of BtVS trading cards, and two packets of BtVS photocards. Which are so awesome and so much fun. I'm particularly enamoured of the potential of the photocards, which look like actual photographic prints (not that my family has gotten photos printed in forever!). In my mind, of course, this immediately translates into "Hey, look at this picture that I took of Anthony Stewart Head! We were, uhm, walking around. And we saw that. . . black background. And, uhm. He really wanted a picture of himself in front of it!" XD
Research on John the Baptist very difficult and boring. I've finally found a good source. I mean, the other sources were full of information but were pretty biased. If anyone's ever researching John the Baptist, I would recommend Scobie's book. I can't remember his first name, but, you know. Scobie. Anyway, it's pretty old, from 1964, but still post-Qumran scrolls, so not completely out of date. And it's blessedly clear and concise! Yay Scobie!
Anyway, so that's what I'm going to be doing this weekend. Woo.
Til Wednesday! Then I will be done with work! And my German final, we went over what was on it today in class and it is not that much stuff.
Also, I discovered a new erotic art forum, and commented on someone's work and he private messaged me and welcomed me there and stuff, which is really nice and has asked me for more feedback on his work. Kinda cool. However, in the private messages, he uses his full name. And apparently, his last name is Long. And he draws, well, porn. I dunno, I just find this funny. But anyway, it's kinda neat to be communicating with someone new.
So, I guess I'll stop watching videos of interviews with Alexis Denisof and go to sleep.
I had such a hard time getting down to work today. Augh!!

I have heard of Scobie, but have no idea where from... was an Egnlsih student so wouldn't be from research of history or religion... hmmm.... will bug me now :-D
You will have to link us to the forum... Not sure if that is a real name or an imaginary "stage name" (sorry, I forget the proper word for it)
Hope you are well.
