Ballsy!

Dec. 18th, 2004 09:18 pm
Having taken both my exams today, and being all done (with that. papers? what? shhh!) I celebrated by watching Horatio Hornblower: The Wrong War. Minus any parts that contained the Marquis or the stupid French girl, and watching most of the parts with Archie twice. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Much of this enjoyment came from the fact that, as I'd noticed in my previous viewing, the pronunciation of Mr. Bowles name switches about halfway through to Mr. Balls. And later, as I had not remembered, on one fantastic occasion, "Ballsy!!" As Mr. Balls rocks hardcore, I obviously had to join in. Corey is out with her parents, so I was free to shout at the computer with impunity. Along with frequent "Mister Balls!" and when he was left behind, several "But Mister Balls!!!"'s, I also called Major Edrington sassypants a couple times. And shouted at Oldroyd. I loff Matthews and Styles!! YAY! The part with the chicken? Awww, Styles. You may get bitten by rats on a semi-regular basis, but I still love you!

But, oh. Archie. I've just been dying for more Bamberage. There simply is not enough in the world, and that's the truth. I adore Jamie Bamber. And Archie is even better, because he's not married. XD I love him so. And truly enjoyed watching him. :D ::cuddles Archie:: Jamie Bamber truly is my supreme crush. And one need only look at my icon set to know that I have many crushes, on both genders!

in less important news, exams went well. ;) There was some stuff I didn't know, but far more that I did! And it's done!

Wheee, papers. Which I now have all day tomorrow to complete! As well as Monday, but it would just be too awesome if I could finish tomorrow. And then sometime on Monday I plan to get together with [livejournal.com profile] stukinwondrland. Wheee! :)

Rereading of Good Omens is progressing apace. Revelations is certainly my favorite book of the Bible.

My biblical knowledge was called upon today to prove to Katie's Brandeis friend David (as opposed to Katie's boyfriend David) that Bethpage is indeed in the Bible, albeit as Bethphage. Luke, 19:9, I think. Or 9:19? I put my bible away. My Harper Collins Study Bible.

I have 9.7 hours of Beatles music on my computer. However, I skipped many of the repeats and songs that I don't like, and Corey and I were able to listen to it in roughly 5 and a half hours. :D That's what I call efficiency!

Reading period is great fun. Did no studying until last night, and only a little work on papers. Much relaxing. Good times in room 305! Corey and I know how to enjoy a reading period. ::bouncebounce:: You will be able to see how when our documentary comes out. There are shots of me lying on my bed and batting the cord of the shades like a cat, shots of me playing snood, of Corey staring at her computer. Soon there will be footage of me reading from the book of Revelations (reading period appropriate! XD) and possibly of Corey doing our newly invented party dance. If we die now, like, say, if Lawrence burns down, we're going to get a joint tombstone (only depressing when you die at different times) and have a party instead of a wake. Where people will do the party dance. ::nodnod:: We planned this out in Hayfields at brunch thingie on Friday. Hayfields is a highly rocking place.

Oooooh! You know what I could do now? Watch an episode of Digimon! Cos I have them. All of season 1. On my computer. :D In .mov form! I rock!

Having taken two exams today, I officially give myself the evening off. Papers will wait until tomorrow! If Carly gets back to me with information about Catholicism. . .

Haha, done with finals AND papers!

But I don't have Biblical knowledge on-hand (well, not about certain things).

And Beatles songs that are not good? Sacrilege.

Well, I knew I'd actually read about Bethphage, because I was really excited, because I'd heard about the whole Jericho, Jerusalem/Wantaugh, Bethphage thing whilst working at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. So I'd noted that I'd read it, and then it was simple to find because I knew it had to be in one of the two books that I'd read! XD And then I remembered where it was, and then I found it. Whooo! While reading Katie those little subtitles, which are, for the book of Luke, highly amusing. "Jesus Cures a Man with Dropsy." "Jesus Cures Ten Lepers." "Two Women Travel With Jesus for a Little While."

Good times.

OK, I meant Beatles songs that are disturbing and/or depressing.

you are? oooh, that's so cool! I'm. . . not. But I am thinking of majoring in Religion (aka Religion and Biblical Studies. The course catalogue says just Religion, but everywhere else has the addendum). Which is strange because I'm not at all religious. Not organized religion, at least.

I love the HCS Bible. :D Although I was not expecting anyone to recognize it when I mentioned it! I still haven't quite gotten the hang of the Cf.'s. Cos I'm usually doing the reading in the hour before class starts. >.>

One of the Shakespeare plays has a character called Master Bates, but I forget which one.

Well, sparknotes.com tells me that Henry V has a character called John Bates--that could be it.

Stargate has a character called Master Bra'tac (long a on the first one) that always cracks Katie, and now me, up.

Umm...you and Corey....are...interesting, to say the least ;). I think maybe Sylvia is getting to you...

What do you need to know about Catholicism? (Says the Catholic.)

:)

:D You shouldn't talk! You and Anne got each other the same gift! And it was Golden Girls DVDs! XD (that rocks, by the way)

But, er, yes. Today we made a sign with pictures of Ewan McGregor from Little Voice to put on the door. It says "Room 305 loves shy pigeon enthusiasts!"

OK, here's the questions I had for Friend Carly about Catholicism. (as quoted from email to her)
1) What is the purpose of mass?
2) can you just kind of describe the physical stuff that happens when you go up for communion? and actually, the doctrinal stuff? i know that the catholic belief in transubstantiation says that you are actually ingesting the blood and body of Christ--what are the implications of that? Why do you do it?
3) what is a cathedral? building used for mass? Official catholic building? something else?

mostly 1 and 2.

This is a fun way of not doing any research! Yay helpful Catholics!

Neat mail

I was introduced to Beatles by my parents (my Mum is a childhood fan) and still think Hey Jude is best song ever, even as a kid I could sing along :-D

I have no clue about religious stuff and will never claim to have one. But have read a fair amount of bible... although most of it has gone from my head. I do like revelations and psalms though.

Hope you enjoy the free time. Good luck with results of exams. Glad they are over for you.
