Roommate-age!
Jul. 21st, 2004 08:58 pmAHHHHHHHH!! I have to pack, but I also had to update, because I spoke to my roommate! Oh, and she sounds great! I was sooo nervous. Smith doesn't give phone numbers, they gave e-mails. So I e-mailed her this long rambling e-mail right away, and she mailed me back really soon with a long e-mail, and then I called her. lol. I couldn't wait! And I talked her ear off for about an hour and she was nice about it. lol. Squeeee! So excited. She works at a Bethpage-type museum, and she likes the Reduced Shakespeare Company, which I don't think I mentioned here but David showed us the DVD of them and they're a riot, and she said that they're going to be in MA in Sept/Oct and wanted someone to go with her, so--woo! She doesn't drink or smoke and isn't a big partier. She's going to a RenFaire this weekend! It's kind of freaky. We're both going to conventions this weekend, we both work at living history museums--she's a New Yorker as well, but upstate (yay not long island!!) (sorry
tckma--I know you'll understand why that's a good thing :). None of this stuff was on the forms, obviously. lol. Well, our address was. lol. Whee! I'm just soooo relieved. It really sounds like things will work out well, that we'll be good roommates.
Oh, and I'm on Green St! Which is the area of campus that I really wanted. And oh my god, my house is gorgeous. Lawrence House. Here are it's stats, and a drawing. But. . .

whooo! More of the same here. Look at it! I'm going to live there!! ::copious drool:: I think the pictures--even that one--are fairly outdated, so according to the drawing it looks different now, but nonetheless.
I am jazzed like insanity.
Must pack.
What do I put in my carry-on?? Is it horribly gauche to bring comics to comic con? XD
So happy. So relieved.

Date: 2004-07-21 09:14 pm (UTC)Am bringing 2 jackets, sadly. Chronic overpacker. One is part of the pirate-age, and one is just awesome.
So excited! :D I'm nervous that I'm going to have forgotten something, though. And not looking forward to the plane. But. . . wheee!!
I did bring a Hellboy at the last minute, and David sent his copy of Watchmen to have Dave Gibbons sign, but aside from that, all books--which is very unusual for me for a trip. But entertainment is mostly going to be for the plane, and on the way there we won't have comics or anything.
Also, even though we won't have much spare time in the hotel room, Katie and I are bringing Munchkin, just in case. It's a great game and very compact. ^_^
