This is a great song. Those of you who have been to the Strangers in Paradise website may recognize it from the introduction. Or, alternatively, if you've just clicked that link! I liked it so much from the intro that I went to the credits page, and luckily was able to download it at the Zen Radio website. I was lucky--"She Is" is the only song that they have in full!

For our sketchbook assigment this week, we had to do a "visual interpretation" of the Robert Frost poem, "The Road Less Traveled". I wasn't sure how literal or figurative to go. . . I have a guy opening a door, but looking over at another door. Weird. It doesn't look good, either. Very stark. However, I took forever getting his pose and anatomy right, so I'm still moderately proud of it. >.< Ugh.

Anyway, next week we do the same thing for a literary selection of our choice, and I'm going to do "She Is". It's a cool song with really neat lyrics, and I might even be able to use the piece for my concentration. I already have a rather nice idea, if I can pull it off.

So far this week hasn't been that bad, although I need to sleep better. Been rather tired. Not a great deal of homework, though. I was able to watch Rasputin. Starring you-should-know-who. Bad facial hair, but he was still awesome. It was pretty heart-wrenching, though. Obviously. lol. Ian McKellen surprised me by being Tsar Nicolas! He was soooo cute and so good. I mean, he's cute in everything. He probably wasn't supposed to be cute, but, man. It made it harder, too. That he's so loveable.

Tomorrow Katie has her first drivers ed lecture class. ::wrings hands:: Actually, that's nothing to worry about. I am worried about driving, though. She has almost no practice, and the instructor. . . I'm sure I've mentioned him before. . . he's just such an enormous idiot. Like, Katie said "should I tell him that I don't have a lot of experience?" And I was honestly able to tell her that she probably shouldn't bother because he won't understand the implications of this: that she'll be less comfortable and skillful driving. He really won't. He's just insanely stupid. I'm just sooooo glad I don't have to deal with him anymore--but I feel really bad for Katie.

David leant us Coupling: Season 1 while he's here. Which is until tomorrow, but that's ok, cos Mike finished it and I've watched what I want. For some reason, I don't like the episode "The Girl With Two Breasts". ::shrug:: It's brilliant, and it's Jack Davenport's favorite, I think. I should give it another try. I think I felt bad. Anyway, I don't think I have a chance.

But yes, Mike has watched Coupling. Yay! And liked it. Of course. :)

Our French teacher gave us French porn to read.

OK, that's not entirely accurate. She gave us magazines to find an article in to read and summarize (god, they're hard, too) and the magazines--particularly Katie's (these mags are Paris Match, btw, if anyone's familiar with it?) have serious nudity. Mine has a short, but well illustrated article about Cabaret. Crazy Horse? I don't know. And I don't know what the article of note in Katie's was, but it was longer than mine, I think, and contained full frontal nudity! Pubes and all. Which isn't something that comes up very often. Breasts are fairly common, but pubes are still pretty tabboo. Although [livejournal.com profile] froggie115p tells me that nudity is much more common in Europe. lol. Yet another, although possibly contradictory, reason that America sucks. Aren't we known for the depravity and sexual nature of our media? Serious gippage.

21:38 cannot be the right time, no matter what 21 is with a 24 hour clock. . . 9, I think. . . because my clock says 10:33. So I'm thinking I'll change it to 22:28?

Continental Europe, yes. Sadly not in this neck of the woods.[*]

Nudity is still kinda frowned upon in these parts.

[*] - Not meaning it in a dodgy way. Just I wish that the UK was a little less closed-minded about a hell of a lot.

UK sucks as well!

Hmmmmm. If America sucks, and the UK does too, I sure as Hell hope that Australia and New Zealand don't. Otherwise the majority of the English-speaking world sucks. And that's not a thing a native English speaker can be proud of really, is it?

awww, that's too bad. Yeah, Perin's European nudity experience was with Switzerland.

I certainly wish people here were less close-minded--in fact, the nudity thing is something that bothers me the least. I can find nudity, if I need to ;) Although it does get old when people freak out, say, when Janet Jackson flashes people at the Superbowl. Stupid.

Pride aside, it also means that there's nowhere we can escape to where we'll be able to speak our native languages. I hear New Zealand is awesome, though ;)

At least Bush isn't in charge of the UK!
