yay! 10 icons! But I kept my old default one because i'm not quite ready to redesign (that'll happen with Em on Tuesday, I believe). When i do, i think I'll post about the icons. My mouth is too sore to do links and difficult stuff ;) Well, it's not that bad, but I just don't feel like it. I need to stay very mellow and happy, because I can't grit my teeth XD It's only a problem when i try to close my mouth all the way. In any case, I'll just say that the mermaid icon I'm using with this post is probably going to be my default icon. i really like it, and I think the colors will lend themselves to an attractive layout. And I can attempt to make a background similar to that one ^_^
Anyway, I just watched Queer Eye for the Straight Guy on NBC, and I was surprised. Well, by a couple things, come to think of it. I was surprised by the show--I actually enjoyed it. Because everyone was good-natured. The Queer Eyes were nice, and the Straight Guy was nice. And I thought they did a good job. They didn't go overboard and he looked good. And so did his apartment and all. And they even helped him set up for his first art show, which was, I think the big occasion that he wanted to change for (I tuned in 7 minutes late).
Other surpise--this one totally threw me, and delighted me. One of the Queer Eyes? Jai Rodriguez!! :O He was the understudy for Angel both times I saw RENT, he originated the role in Canada, and eventually took over permanently on Broadway! We actually saw him leave the theater. . . I think the first time we saw it. He had a neon green backpack. Anyway, I love Jai Rodriguez, I think he's awesome and hot and he was sooo good as Angel! Unfortunately, QEftSG (I'm so lazy) is usually on Bravo, at 10 on Tuesdays. I don't get Bravo (they were doing an NBC special), and on Tuesdays we have to leave David's house at 10 >.< So I can't watch it. :(
Anyway, I still think that totally kicks ass :D I didn't catch the credits, but I recognized him. i was like "could that beJai Rodriguez?" and then Katie came home and filled me in and we squeeed together.
I also watched 1776 with mom. I love that movie! It's so funny and cool, and has great actors and great songs. :D I really enjoyed it. And I remembered a lot of the words. . . and I hadn't seen it in, uh, several years. lol. But it's a bit of a trick to sing along while wearing a retainer.
Mike is playing chess with his friends. He's a chess nut. He's read books of strategy, and he watched this movie about the life of a chess champion. It was actually pretty good, though--I watched some of it with him. But depressing. He went crazy. . . and his poor wife. Or almost-wife? Anyway, it was too bad.
Can't think of anything else to say. I think I'm going to take this week's comic books and Moving Pictures, by Terry Pratchett, to my room. I already read Batgirl--I hate the new Batgirl creative team!! AUGH! And the original one was soooo good. I actually had a conversation with the guy in a comic book shop in New Hampshire about it. That was fun ^_^ We were able to commiserate (sp?). And I already read the new BPRD story. The art was pretty nifty, and it was by Brian Augustyn! Yay!! :D (he's a big Flash guy) Oh, my god! That reminds me I need to reread or at least review all those old Flash collections we have so I can read the new one. And I have other stuff that we got for our birthday that I haven't read yet. Yeesh!
update: I just read the latest Robin, and whoa! Tim is exactly 1 year and two days younger than us! He turned 16 on the 19th of July. XD So cool. I thought he was already 16 though, which is strange. He definitely got his liscence young! 15. O.o
This is my 501st entry, by the way. Halfway to a thousand! XD
