Academons was great. There were a lot of new people--me and Katie weren't the only girls! There were about 5 more! (3 of whom are our friends ;) And there were some new guys, too. I happen to know that two of them are assholes, but hopefully it won't be too much of a problem. And Tom did not show up! w00t!! Neither did Peter. Peter is David's younger brother (although he's not as smart as David, and much lazier) and even though I've had some problems with him, I wouldn't have minded him coming so much. . . except that if he came, he would have brought Tom. Who is the root of most of my problems with Peter. In 9th grade (two years ago) I sat next to Peter in orchestra (which we've both dropped since) and we used to talk the whole time and we had a lot of fun. Then Peter started to spend a lot of time with Tom, and he became an asshole. So it was very good that neither of them came.
All of our Academons boys from last year came! (I mean, except for David and Stephen, our two seniors. ::sniffs:: Stephen is adorable--he's amazingly shy and quiet. His brother came, and Michael is much better than better--but he's even quieter and more shy/awkward than his brother. He used to play the cello too, and maybe it was just because he was so shy, but he always seemed a little creepy. But we'll see what happens there. He could have social anxiety (I can't remember if that's the correct term or not). Actually, I believe Peter does have that. But he's an asshole none-the-less. My problem with him is his close-minded-ness and his obsession with war and killing and everything. ::sigh::
Anyway, all our lovely boys from last year came :D It was great! And they seemed a little more comfortable with us and accepting of us than last year. (they weren't hostile, just not. . . not sure how to behave, I think. lol.) A lot of people had to leave on the 3:30 bus, which is when we kinda disbanded, but most of the returning members (as well as our friend Perin, and 2 Michaels--Stephen's younger brother and one of the assholes--but he sat kinda far away with us and didn't talk to us. And he lives across the street from Friend Emily so I've dealt with him before) stuck around for a while. An incredibly cool Bio teacher (remind me to write about when we visited her the other day) wants Academons, so at then end of the meeting she came and asked to talk to Friedman in private, thus getting him out of our hair, and letting us stay later (cos when friedman leaves, we all have to leave). Doug had left, so we were able to talk about him. lol. Jamie and Aron now have a car (and Jamie has his liscence--Aron failed the first time, and Jamie is very pleased cos it's like, the only time he's beaten Aron at something. lol.) so they didn't have to run on the 3:30 bus--a fact which pleased me and Katie immensely! We had a lovely talk with them, Todd, Donald, and the 3 new people who stayed. It was great! We talked about Academons, and the APs, and cool stuff :D
And then, after Friedman kicked us out, we went outside and found that after cool Bio teacher (I'll call her Mrs. R) left, she'd spoken to Emily (who had her last year) and told her that Friedman said she could go to the meetings, and when he couldn't go, she could run it :D yay!! It's good to have a back-up teacher cos last year Friedman would be tired or something and we'd have to cancel Academons, which made us sad. Plus, she is awesome. So when Aron and Jamie and Todd and Donald came out of the building a couple minutes later, we ran over and told them the good news :) And then we ended up talking for a little more, and Katie convinced them to say hi to us in the hallways. Jamie said he didn't cos he couldn't tell us apart, but Katie told him he could just say "hi", as opposed to "hi Katie". lol. I had kind of walked away at this point, so she told me later.
I really need to go and comment on people's LJs. >.<
We were chilling after school outside by The Tree. And we keep finding dead birds around there! It's awful! There was one last time, and today there were 2 different ones! O_O geez! So me and Perin felt that we had to do something, so we went and we asked if the principal was still there. She wasn't--but we told one of the nice security guards (I know, it seems like an oxy moron. but this guy is pretty cool--he's old and mellow and hard of hearing. lol. Earlier Freddy went and got him to see about these two people who were having a fight or something. The guy had the girl penned in a corner, and we were getting worried. Yay Freddy!!) what had happened and he got the head custodian for us. We told him about the birds and he said that he needed to get, I believe the EPA to get them, and he'd left a note before, but he's going to leave another one now. . . and it's suspected that they have West Niles virus. I keep getting mosquito bites, so this news isn't very comforting. Dad doesn't want us to chill outside anymore. Ah well. I guess we'll just have to go to people's houses. I mean, the school won't let us spend any time hanging out inside. ::sigh::
There were 2 freshman girls with us, friends of Emily, and they were. . . otakus. Like, it was like going back to Patamon's Pad. Unpleasant. ::sigh:: Well. They didn't go to dinner with us. Speaking of which, I owe Freddy 4 dollars. I had no money, and he was a gentleman and paid for my sub and Pepsi Blue (which is good!). lol.
We're also going to Perin and Freddy's house for a potluck dinner tonight. (I think it might be a religious thing, their dad is Zorastrianist, and they have these get togethers every so often) So we're making cookies for that.
Math test yesterday. I think it went well.
oooh!! Meghan (
marishi) came back!! Well, she visited. She's moved to Pennsylvania, but she was back in town for her uncle's wedding and she came to school :D She sat in on our physics class, and our english class! (she sat behind me in both :D :D :D) I saw her from behind in the hallway to physics (she said she saw me coming and then turned around) and I was like, "What? Is that Meghan? It can't be!! Has she come back? It is Meghan--I'm sure of it!" And it was!!! YAY!! :D It was so good to see her! Then in english we went into groups to work on these Anglo-Saxon riddles, and we worked with Meghan! w00t! :D
so much lovely happy goodness. And if you've gotten this far, I applaud you for reading that whole thing.
edit: I forgot to mention our scores! I got 13/50, Katie got 17, Aron (our captain, who got the highest) got 22. Susan and Kristin got 12 and 13, I can't remember which :D And Perin got a 10. All good scores (well, not really, but good for academons. lol. if it was a regular test we'd be in big trouble!) which is good cos hopefully it'll encourage new people to come. This sophomore guy got a 21, which made Katie nervous cos she thought he'd take her place on the team, but it's just one test, and he only got 4 more than her. Those are the only scores I know. And Doug took the stat sheets >.< (it's a complicated power-sharing thing. I think stats are kinda doug's area, but he's pretty lazy. . .) ::sigh:: ah well!
