We got swag!!
Sep. 1st, 2002 09:02 amwell. lol. As I said before, we went to my great-aunt's house for the day yesterday, to help her daughter go through her things. (you remember this aunt--I went down to NJ for her funeral earlier in August and I got myself depressed, I believe) Anyway, she's got a lot of stuff. They were very eager to get rid of it, so we got, well, I've been calling it swag. XD
-a reddish-brown sweater that's kind of long and has a belt instead of buttons
-a bunch of bangle bracelets in different colors
-a trench-coat/raincoat type of weird thing, that is also brown and goes down almost to my ankles! XD
-a winter coat, kinda pea coat style. It's soft and a pale beige color.
-a brown velvet blazer thing that I plan to use as a jacket. (katie got one in maroon)
-a funny little bucket hat type of thing
-a plaid scarf (it was on the coat)
my mom also got a pink bathrobe and some bamboo bag handles. She crochets bags out of, well, plastic bags. She cuts them into strips and ties them together and makes beautiful patterns. So she's going to attach the bamboo handles to one of those. And Katie got a lot of thread and some yellow cloth. We also got this nifty hat-box style box that's black with gold stars, and it's full of wrapping paper scraps. And we got some pants hangers, and some hangers that have pretty knitted covers. Oh, and we got a couple of fur collars. I'm not sure what for. Katie got herself purple shorts!! So she can be just like Ashley! :D And she got a greenadsNtleneck, and purple pants, and a pink shirt that says "Never underestimate the power of a woman" XD and a blue shirt with lots of little faces on it. It's interesting. And Katie also got. . . a long plaid, pleated skirt, that came with a red belt, a red shirt that had a tie type of thing, and a blue blazer. O_O good heavens!
Oh yes, we also got a present for Emily/

me and katie, first we threw out all the shoes. lol. Then we all started to go through her clothes. We made stacks to either throw them out, or try to sell them. There was a lot of wild stuff. Then we went through her dresser. Nifty jewelery, a lot of random stuff. Then we went into the other room to go through more clothes, and then we sorted hangers. lots of hangers. at least a hundred.
Mom forgot her book, and, since she's staying until Tuesday to help out with the garage sale, I leant her mine, which has 2 of the Herriot books in it: All Things Wise and Wonderful, and The Lord God Made Them All. Very good. So now I'm going to have to find something else to read, but maybe this will make it easier for me to finish up the textbook stuff.
david is telling me that katie sounded like she was having "serious withdrawl problems". hmmm. She seemed ok to me, but I'll talk to her. David wants me to make sure Katie is ok. Well, my god. Doesn't he think that I do all I can and that if I could make Katie ok I would? hmmm. evidently he is saying this to reassure himself.
Anyway, on the trip home, I think someone's car broke down in the Lincoln tunnel, so we were there for about 20 minutes, waiting for a tow truck to back it's way down to get it. Or at least, that's our theory. We couldn't see anything, we were just stopped completely for 20 minutes. Well, not completely. We moved a couple feet foward about 5 times. People actually honked. it was kinda weird.
Then we went to my grandpa's for pizza. mmmm, pizza. I'm actually not a huge pizza fan, except for when my grandpa makes it :D
right. I feel like there's more but that's all I can think of, so bye bye!
