I'm glad it's not just me who's been getting overly tense about this stuff. I didn't care as much about some of the other events (and at least moguls was over quickly), but I was so nervous watching the end of the pairs competition you'd think I was skating in it. XD But I was really happy with the way things turned out, even if I felt terrible for the Russian team who could clearly have done so much better, and have the guilt of ruining the Russian streak on top of everything else.
I was wondering if all the mistakes had anything to do with the ice. I watched some speed skating and they kept talking about how bad the ice is due to the temperature and humidity in Vancouver. They didn't mention it at all to do with figure skating, but I wonder anyway. I feel like there are fewer clean programs since they put in the new scoring system and everyone started doing harder moves, but even so, it sounded like there were a lot of really uncharacteristic mistakes. Hmm.
