Candy!

Oh my god, I NEED to find somewhere in NYC where i can buy German candy. Because we get some Haribo here, but not the best candy in history:

Primavera Erdbeeren? They don't look like much but they are absurdly delicious. So juicy! And a really lovely texture and sweet and they taste like strawberries as much as candy ever does and are soooooo good. Oh my god. I just. . . once I start eating them, I cannot stop and am just constantly popping them in my mouth. As soon as I finish one, I pop another in. Until my teeth start to hurt or I get a sugar headache.

Also in "hundreds of years of confectionary has been building up to this" category: Crispinis. I LOVE THEM. So perfectly delicious and chocolatey and crunchy. Particularly good if they melt into a huge glob and then are put in the fridge.

Oh, strawberry gummis and crispinis. You make overtime bearable. :D

Someone else is here and he's a few cubes away in another aisle, and he plays a radio quietly. It's so quiet I can't even hear the music. . . except for the fucking bass line. It kind of drives me crazy, I hear it throbbing even through my music. But like, he already has it really quiet so it's not like I can ask him to turn it down. XP Hopefully he'll go home soon.

I think I've seen those strawberry things somewhere. They always freak me out.

Cos they look like little strawberry turds? But I don't even understand how tasty they are! You should try them! :D Even though I just called them turds!

It's more that I'm not a huge fan of artificial berry flavours (or banana). They're always a little sweet and chemical for my tastes.

Understandable. I can't eat banana or watermelon flavored candy. Or blackcurrant but we actually don't have blackcurrant flavored candy here, which works out pretty good for me.

Blackcurrent I'm actually usually fine with. No watermelon, but then I don't like them in general, and it's not a popular candy flavour over here, so it's not usually a problem.

Want me to send you some? (I've still got a letter I wrote to you when my internet wasn't working which I somehow never managed to send to you, so...)

TOtally forgot to say: Yes, I love them, too. ^-^ Though I like "Colorado" better, because I like licorice. I love the brown licorice sandwiches with the stuff around them that tastes a bit of chocolate.

Um, WOULD I!?!? :D :D :D Katie first discovered them when she got to Berlin and Mom restocked when she was on her trip, but she couldn't carry much. ::clings:: That would be so awesome!

We never got any Colorado because Katie and I are not licorice fans! That's an interesting name for a candy, though. :)

Is there any American candy that I can send you? Or anything else you can't get there? And do you have my address?

No problem! ^-^ Well, no problem from my side, I'll have to check with customs whether I'm allowed to send food-stuff to America, because I know that the United States have really strict regulations on that... I don't see why it should be a problem, because it's pre-packed, but who knows what those regulations people think... ^^" I'll call them on Monday and tell you afterwards. ^-^

What kind of licorice have you tried yet? Because I know people who don't like licorice at all, but others (like me) are fine with German licorice and hate British licorice (and vice versa, of course), because they taste very different. (I think German licorice tends to be a bit saltier, while English licorice is sweeter).

Also, Dragostea Din Te (or however it's called - you once wrote a post about this song - the one where the Rumanian, or whatever they are, guys dance on an air plane's wings) was just voted no 7 on "the most ennervating songs ever". XD
...I kind of like that song, though. Perhaps because it just occured to me that it would be the best song ever to do a really, really gay figure skating show to. XDD

Also, it's got nothing on this song, which must be the one of the most horrible songs EVER. It kind of looks like a parody on "Austin Powers", except that a.) why do a parody on a parody? and b.) I've seen this guy in interview and he really is the kind of person who wouldn't realize that Austin Powers is a parody and declare him his personal hero, since he gets all the girls and everything. (Never mind that I'm not sure he himself knows his sexuality...)

Anyway, back on topic. ^^" (Now that I've mentally scarred you enough ;P)
I have your address - I think I wanted to send you some Arashi stuff once, but I think we both kind of forgot about that... ^^"

And no, there isn't really anything I want. Though, perhaps if the Johnny Weir documentary shouldn't be shown in Germany, I might come back to you to help acquiring that one... ^-^

(Btw, I still really love your icon!)

Hahaha - these are definitely my favorite haribo candy! I like the gummis but mostly because they come in wacky fun shapes and it makes me happy. ^_^

I've had. . . American licorice? I don't know. . . it tastes like aniseed! My mom said she got German licorice and loved it but she also loves American licorice, so she is not a good test!

Um, speaking of my mom, I mentioned to her that you were going to send me Crispinis and she, um. She wants to know if you could possibly find any Yogurette Limette (http://candyholic.com/wp-content/images/jogurette-limette2.jpg) candy? She apparently loves it but didn't realize this until she left Germany, and would be incredibly in your debt if you could help her satisfy her craving. :) Again, if there's anything we can do for you - my mom will send you cold hard cash if you send her this thing. :D But it's apparently limited edition so if you can't find it, don't worry!

How is Dragostea Din Te enervating!?? That's ridiculous, it always makes me want to get up and dance and sing! :D Hahaha and oh man, it would be awesome if someone skated to it, I would be so pumped. Maybe it was voted enervating because it's overplayed?

Aggh, I can't listen to the other song yet - my first real time on the computer in a couple days and Katie is still asleep in my room. ^_^ I will check it out later, although I am frightened!

Ooh, yeah - but do you have my address in Brooklyn or my parent's address? I guess either way is fine, really.

Never, ever try to melt those.
Especially not in ceramic, in the microwave.

XDDD Thank you for the tip! You know, I might just have at some point, to see what happens.

. . . what happens? :D

Well it goes really, really glassy and hard like cement after being extremely tacky. I stuck a fork in it to try and pry it out - but the fork got stuck and I eventually had to throw the bowl, fork and the multi-coloured monstrosity into the bin. Also - candy is just sugar so it goes FUCKING HELL HOT.

Haha, awesome. I shall learn from your experience and not do the same. I bet it looked cool, though!

Maybe - but if it was I couldn't tell because I was panicking and freaking out over ruining my mum's bowl. :/

Awww - yesterday I dropped my mom's casserole dish and it broke into a bajillion pieces, and mom had been planning to make us all dinner in it. DX It was frightening and sad!
