So you know that Christmas meme that was like "list the presents you want"? Weeeeeeeeell. . . there isn't much I want (except for work clothes but please don't get them for me) except that I would love if someone managed to make me an icon of the picture below and somehow preserved the text (somehow) as legible.
It's the Spirit - he's got a movie coming out and was also the first modern comic book character? Something along those lines. He's basically awesome is what he is. I know some of you are good at icons and I have only the most rudimentary of skills so I was unable to really get anywhere.
Other meme - stuff that made me happy today:
-Being invited to celebrate the 75 anniversary of the repeal of prohibition! (sadly, I slept on Katie's floor last night and look like it.)
-Meeting Dad for lunch!
-Getting email back from my old boss, we're going to meet for dinner next Wednesday! ^_^ I have had good boss luck. Unless you count the head of the agency where I used to work as my boss? I don't think she counts. She made me cry, though! Um, but then she was forced to resign. Karma? :/
Onto the subject of fierce and awesome women. The I Did It For Science blog that I linked to yesterday had an article where the male reporter/scientist went to a place where you were paying to have a beautiful woman wrestle you. Like, for serious wrestling. I went to the website of this business and it is INCREDIBLE!! The women kick so much ass, the whole idea fascinates me, and the profiles are truly entertaining. XD It has a much better vibe than other places where men can hire women to perform personal services for a limited amount of time. They're really pushing differen aspects - different standards of attractiveness are applied, many of the women look like real people (except for the extremely tall and extremely muscular ones, who are my favorites) and their personalities and mentioned, and being smart is apparently a selling point! And it gives their credentials in the martial arts. So even compared to other places where men go to find dominant women, it's got a different feel. Almost more honest? They are selling fantasies, but when it comes to selling physical combat you really have to be honest about people's abilities. It's just sort of. . . nifty. I think. XD
