google crusading!! ::hums superman theme::
Apr. 6th, 2004 07:23 amOK, in the course of journal surfing, I discovered this pretty depressing bit of information. Now, when you do a google search for "jew", the first result is an anti-semetic site. Someone suggested that Wikipedia's definition of Jew would be a good top result. Apparently, linking to this site with the word "Jew" (as I did above) will help make this first. ::shrugs:: I've no idea how search engines work, but I figure it's worth a try, eh?
Especially with Passover here. Family seder tonight, friend's seder tomorrow. And math tomorrow. So not cool.
XD My brother has to do a paper on Stalin, I think. . . Or communist Russia? Cos he's watch a Stalin movie, but it started with the Bolsheviks and all, and yesterday, at Barnard, I sat in on a class on European History after 1789, and they were just doing the end of WWI! So I learned all about the early years of the Bolsheviks. So I was able to have a big discussion with Mike about it. XD lol. It was really interesting, and I took loads of notes, but I was sooooooo sleepy. Long day.
I also sat in on a class on Evolution, which was really cool. The class was shorter and he went a bit slower, so I have fewer notes, but still plenty. I always take notes when I visit these classes. XD Even at Smith, although less so then. It's strange.
Anyway, I learned all about adaptation, and the effects of environment, and exaptation, and the effect of other factors on the traits, and "just so stories" and how important it is to investigate your hypotheses. Very cool. I'm feeling all smart. The European History class was pretty much stuff that I already knew but had forgotten. Still good, though!
OK, once again I'm too lazy to really talk about anything. But give that Jew thing a try, eh?
Here's html instructions for those of you who may not know. edit: html instructions now made easier thanks to
