guingel: ("Grabbing the Clouds")
I almost updated yesterday, but then decided I was too tired and it would be weird. And I almost updated a couple days ago but the entry was turning out strangely so I stopped. But basically my english teacher told me I'm a good writer and I was very surprised and pleased and thought it was cool. And we finished watching Le Huitième Jour in French and it rocks! That's a great movie. Daniel Auteil is actually totally the man, even though I first saw him in Jean de Florette and. . . Manon de Source. But then I saw him in Le Placard, which is a fantastic movie, and hysterically funny, and now I've seen him in Le Huitième Jour, which was just amazing. I loved it! And Luis Mariano reminds both me and my french teacher of Liberace, but less so, more operatic, and with Mexican costumes (Luis himself is Spanish)

Anyway. My plans to regain my happiness have been interfered with slightly by me coming down with a rather bad cold. Very annoying. Hence no writing recently--I was quite groggy. Without the aid of any cold medication. I've come up with a new theory. People are always saying they're out of it because of their cold medication--I think it's the colds themselves. Well, it is with me. Anyway, I think I'm feeling better now--my nose is still running, but that's ok.

I went to Bethpage anyway, yesterday, because it was the fair and all. And I was at the farmhouse, and it wasn't too busy--cos it was rather rainy. And I was with Meredith, which was quite interesting. Mike stopped in a lot. We had fun. And! I learned about the pigs (George and Sophie. . . George has ridiculously large testicles. Apparently a little kid once asked Mike what was growing out of George's behind, and Mike said "Uhh. . . ask your mother" and the kid said "They're your pigs and you don't even know what's wrong with them!!" so Mike said "Uhm, he had some bad watermelon." XD) so I can go interpret them. Like, Mike goes over--he actually gets into the pig pen, which is cool. I'm not going to do that. For one thing, jumping pig sty fences is no mean feat in a long skirt. But now I can go and tell people about the piggies too. Plus, at the end of the day I helped feed the pigs (it's kind of complicated because George always goes for the first one--he's 550 pounds--so you make that bowl have less feed in it, and then put Sophie's--she's 320 pounds--on the other side of the barrier. . . their pigsty has two rooms. . . so George won't see her eating and go for that, too) and I helped put the sheep to bed. This was also difficult for me because it involved jumping a fence! ::sigh:: Not easy! But it was fun. And I'm really proud that I know how to do it now.

Last night I stayed home from my grandpa's and went to sleep from 7-12, so I was asleep when everyone else got back, and then I felt all discombobulated. I went back to sleep from 3-10. I woke up a couple times in the morning but went back to sleep.

Anyway, it's kind of annoying, cos I have an essay to write, and a sketchbook to do. . . and I have college stuff to do, and dad wants me to help pick up the family room! AUGH! Being sick interferes with my productivity.

So does the Live With Kevin Smith DVD that Mike got from Blockbusters. >.>

Still no ranks. When I was having my meeting with my English teacher (where she said she thought I was a good writer) we were in the teacher's cafeteria and two of the guidance counselors were in there. . . this was friday. . . and they said that they were the people who are supposed to do the final check, and they haven't even gotten the numbers to check! So I don't know if we'll even get them on Tuesday. That's tomorrow. We have today off cos it's Columbus Day.

By the way, I was in my local newspaper. Cos I got a national merit scholarship letter of commendation. I'm standing in between two very tall guys. XD Unfortunately, we don't get the local paper. But people keep mentioning it to me. lol.

trying to work on essay. it's on the Awakening. I'm going to talk about characterization. Is Adele a foil to Mlle Reisz, as well as Edna?
