guingel: (bubbles)
The sun is out! It's amazing! I havne't seen sunshine in like, weeks! :D I'm so happy. I also just woke up. O_O I'm going to have to go and do something outside today. And clean up. I must do that too.

I finally have my root canal follow-up appointment tomorrow. wahey! OK, I'm actually not excited about this because my back right tooth has felt strange, and I don't know how to describe it or even if it needs describing. It felt a little tight and a little achy lest week, but not so much anymore, so I don't know what to do.

Sooo. . . I've lost my family. As I mentioned before, I just woke up. And I haven't seen hide nor hair of any of them. Well, mom and Dad are at work. Mike could still be asleep. It's his day off. Katie is not in bed (she'd have been up already but maybe she'd be napping) so it's possible that she went out with David. I don't think she's in the house. It's not a big house. lol.
It's still unsettling when you wake up and your family is missing.

I've been longing for my report card. Only the last final is tomorrow, I think, and then all the grades need to be calculated. So it won't be mailed out til later--and we leave for vacation on saturday! ARGH!!! Oh, the angst. lol. I wonder if any of my friends know when the teacher's grades are due. :-/
And I don't get my AP scores til I get back either, but that's because they don't get mailed out until mid-july. ::bites nails:: ::develops nervous tick:: Can you tell I'm worried about these? Well, actually, I'm not that worried. . . but thats only because I've been completely avoiding thinking about them.
I'm also waiting for my SAT II scores. I'm kinda concerned about the writing, I'd really like to do well on it. What else did I take? Oh yeah, French. . . that's a lost cause. Dammit. Oh well. And US History. I'm not really worried about that one. I was just really bored and cold taking it! And there was a huge bug in our room. I got so bored during the social studies exam (my last one) that I started to write things on my test booklet. First I wrote that I was bored. Then I wrote that I was hungry. Then I wrote that I was cold (it wasn't the best testing experience I've ever had. . . lol) but that we couldn't close the windows because there was an enormous bug buzzing around. (it was easily as long as one of my fingers, and I have long fingers) I went on to explain that if I didn't finish the test, it was probably because I'd been stung to death. I didn't entertain the possibility that I might not finish because I was too busy writing stupid little things in my test booklet. Lol. But I did finish, and I wasn't stung to death. I just almost froze/ Gawd, was it cold in there. Luckily, Perin gave us a ride home. it was raining.

Yesterday, katie and David made cookies, and we watched 2001: A Space Odyssey. Actually, I kinda half watched it, cos I was computing at the same time. It's really the best way to do it, because it can get pretty slow. But I liked it. Even though it was bizarre. I think I'm going to have to read the book. I hear things make more sense when you read the book. Me and Katie thought Frank was hot, but we let Dave take over the hotness after Frank, you know. Dave wasn't that bad. I mean, at normal age. Apparently, David's father programmed their computer to say "I can't do that Dave", using the clip from 2001: A Space Odyssey. And David hadn't seen the movie, and he was flipping out XD

Speaking of David's computer, that's where I spent yesterday afternoon. We're playing Gabriel Knight III: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned (some name, huh?). I'm waiting for the plot to get exciting, but in the meantime I'm having a good time following everything under the face of the earth. We followed the snarky guy, the Australian, the lesbians, the Scots. We even followed a chicken! But that wasn't part of the game :D David was rather impatient with this, but me and Katie had a great time following that chicken. Grace tried to seduce the Australian. I mean, she succeeded, but he's icky. XP Following the lesbians is our favorite thing to do. It sounds like a game. "Let's play Follow the Lesbians!" They thing Grace is cute as a button! Grace is getting a lot luckier in this game. actually, well, Madeline thinks Gabe is hot, and so does the gay desk clerk. But in Gabe II: The Beast Within, there was a lot more flirting going on. Maybe because they were real people. I mean, seriously, everyone in Gabe III is so butt-ugly! It's really annoying. I miss Gabe I. The graphics in Gabe I are my favorites, although I did think that the whole live action video thingie was awesome, and Gabe and Grace were both seriously hot. :D And Gabe would like, throw his hair, and Von Glower would be like "I find you fascinating, Gabriel" or whatever it was. And the guy jerked off in the bathroom! Ewwwies. Price? Something like that. Lol. Carmina Burana is good music to listen to when you're writing about Gabriel Knight.

So in Gabe III we were looking things up in SIDNEY, the Shattenjaeger Database (does Shattenjaeger have one T or two?) and generally cool computer thingie. And I learned a lot of interesting things, like about the magical names of God and Yahweh and Eve and it was awesome! And I also learned about the Cathars, and dualism, and the Knights Templar, and the hexagram, and the pentagram. . . and the GOAT OF LUST!! YES! Cos, you know, when you think of goats, lust is the first thing that pops into your head, right? Right.
We also looked up vampires, cos, you know, they're an important part of the game. So apparently there are three types. Type one needs blood to survive. Succubi also fall under this description! Like Leah! :D Only Leah didn't actually need blood to survive, it's just what she ate. To stop from being hungry. Awww. Leah is sweet. Well, cool. I don't know. As I mentioned before, I can't place Leah, but I like her. (Leah stopped drinking blood, by the way, and is hungry, all the time, now. In case anyone was wondering how I skipped from her eating blood to "awww".) The second type used blood to gain the power or attributes of the victim (this might be the kind we're looking at in the game. . . I think we were looking at blood cults and something looked promising. Or maybe I just can't remember).
Anyway, this whole thing was reminding me of Hellboy, it had the same kind of delightfully creepy feel. . . and then we got to the third kind: vampires that drink blood to gain immortality. And they cross-referenced to another article (we did a lot of cross-referencing) about Elizabeth of Bathory. [i'm listening to Constant Cravings now, btw. I just thought that was a little funny.] They explained how she used the blood of young girls to stay young and beautiful, and how she eventually got walled up inside her own castle. All of a sudden, I realized that not only did this remind me of Hellboy in a vaguely general sort of way (that's kind of an adapted BoM quote, btw) but Elizabeth of Bathory was actually mentioned in Hellboy! Cos apparently, her favorite tool for draining the blood of these young girls was an Iron Maiden. This was all explained in an exceptionally creepy part of Wake the Devil. I won't tell any more, cos I don't want to give anything away, but it really gave me the heeby jeebies.

And you thought I talked about Books of Magic for a long time? Well, ok, I did. . . )

::winces:: That was really long. But it was so much fun to write! And it's my journal :D I still feel like I haven't said all about Hellboy that I could. lol. XD I didn't talk about the movie, really. I think his gun looks really, really cool. It's got a wooden handle, and a BPRD logo on it. My dad has a BPRD shirt. Except that it looks a little freaky, cos, you know, no one knows what the BPRD is and it's got that strange thing with the sword and stuff, so it looks kind of like dad's in a cult. I have a shirt with the picture from the cover of Right Hand of Doom on it. From Graphitti Designs. Which actually has a Hellboy action figure on the main page! We have a Hellboy action figure though. And The Art of Hellboy, which is awesome! Oh yeah! I wanted to share what a freak I was, in case you hadn't already figured it out. In a lot of the Hellboy comics, they're in churches or old castles or something, and Mignola draws statues and angels and stuff. And they'd always reminded me of Albrecht Dürer woodcuts. And at one point in the Art of Hellboy, he says "Apologies to Albrecht Dürer". O_O The fact that I recognized that just scares me.
Speaking of Albrecht Dürer, I write the most bizarre graphitti on my social studies desk. I wrote Albrecht Dürer, and I wrote "polecat means skunk". Someone changed that to "polecat means skank. HAHA", which cracks me up. And I also wrote "Dung" for no reason (probably the same person added "= poo" to that one XD), and I wrote noises like someone dying. Like "yaaargh. . ack. . . ick" kinda. getting smaller and smaller. Just for pure randomness. i have a good desk XD Well, it's a boring class!! for a while, i was writing "shut up" every time I wanted to say it to the teacher, but it ended up taking over the desk. Then this person who can't spell got involved. We've had a run in before, when they called me an as. I pointed out that they spelled ass wrong and they called me an asssss! lol. This time they told me to "sut up". Ouch. And I always get called a homo. Which they actually spell correctly. I don't know. I just find the whole thing really funny. Maybe I shouldn't? lol.

MWAHAHAHA! OK. I'm actually done babbling. i'm going to go and shower and either clean up or dig up Katie to play badminton with me. Probably clean, cos I've no clue where Katie is!

End time- 3:30

[edit: ha! I've compared them. This entry, in appleworks, is 7 and a half pages long. the Books of Magic entry is just over 6 pages. O_O And I didn't even get to talk about my old CATS website, that I was looking at yesterday. It was fun. And another example of my long-windedness, I talked a lot on it.]
[note: by the way, except for the Chained Coffin and Others, and the Right Hand of Doom, I linked to pictures of the covers of the first issue, or one of the issues, included in the story. Not the covers of the tradepaperbacks. I just think those covers are cooler--especially cos I hadn't really seen them before.]

I rock :D

Well, maybe not. but i had a very productive day! I did all the things I wanted to. First, I wrote The Hellboy Entry. MWAHAHA! Then, I showered. Then, I watched some CATS while I brushed my hair! :D Then, I worked very hard on my room. I got up all the books and comic books and some other random stuff, and picked up a lot of the garbage. It was tiring. And I still have Random Stuff on my bed, so i'm going to have to clear that off before I go to sleep. Must also open windows, as it has become summer! :D wahey! You can actually see a noticable difference in my room now, and I am very proud of myself. Then, after dinner, I did my Outdoor Activity, and played badminton with mom. Later, after dad was done taking pictures of us, I took on both of them :D It was a lot of fun. I'm very fond of badminton. Me and mom watched more CATS. . . more on that in a second. after this, I went to David's to watch this thing on the History Channel: Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked (I think that's what it was called. . .). It was a history of comic books, and it was very cool! We thought it was a little bit marvel-centric. . . oh well. It also didn't talk about art at all, really. But there was a flash of Hellboy! And they gave Sandman plenty of time. :D And Watchmen! It was waaaaay cool. I got to feel seriously special cos I was recognizing things :D I mean, so did Katie, but, you know. I felt knowledgable anyway! And then we played a bit of Gabriel Knight. Today, we followed around the French maid. lol. And were generally sneaky.

You know what I got today? This evening, when me and mom were watching, Dad came in and gave us the ultimate edition CATS DVD! I am definitely reviving my CATS fandom! lol. The DVD was a gift, so we will certainly have to thank our benefactor.
Speaking of reviving CATS fandom, when I was at our website, I looked at the links page, and went to one of my very favorite CATS sites: Phillidia's Cats Fan Page and she had quizzes!
