yay! my layout is still there! lol. I need to put in more of that dark green. But there really isn't a space for it. Maybe the weak accent, although I love the dark gray. (update. . . again. . . I've done more mucking about and tweaking and adjusting. And I may not be done yet. lol.)

Anyway. For those of you who don't know this yet, the east coast of the US, from I think Virginia up, is covered in snow. In most places it's about knee-height on me. In my town on Long Island, that is. But! :D I live in a dead end. heh heh. It's at the end of a long street, and it's basically ours--we're the only house in the dead end that faces it. Our neighbors are all facing the cross street. So we have our own dead end, and because of it's location, the snow plows like to push all the snow into the back of it :D So we have a huge mountain at the end of our dead end. ::grins:: It's the coolest thing. I think it's. . . somewhere between 6 and 7 feet tall? It reaches a little below the bottom of the net on our basketball hoop. (unfortunately, it stops a little before the actual net, preventing us from slam dunking. it's begun to slope down already by the time it's under the net.) In 1996 we were 9, and there was a huge snowstorm then as well. The mountain was even better then, it had all different levels and we really tunnelled into it and stuff. It was fantastic. I also have a very fond memory of me and Katie dragging each other around the dead end on one of those dishes, at night when it had begun to get dark.

To celebrate the mountain, Emily came over to play in the snow :D We had a lot of fun. Even though our basketball skills were not improved by being on level with the basket. (Emily is even shorter than I am--barely 5 feet, and I'm a little over 5'3". So we were very excited at the chance of being tall) There was a great view from the top of the mountain. We also did some snow swimming, and generally got ourselves sopping wet ^_^ Emily dubbed the mountain Mt. Shovel, I think. I had a lot of fun. Even though my butt got very very cold. lol.

I've been doing further research on my sketchbook. I'm going to attempt to do something with markers. :-/ I have not had a great deal of luck with markers in the past--for one thing, mine aren't very high quality, so I can't blend them, and I don't have very many colors. But I found 2 picutres that I should be able to do with the amount of markers I have. I'm leaning toward one that's a full body rather than a face. But we'll see how they turn out. I'll map them out and see if I'll be able to do it. The only problem then will be linking the pictures to my theme. Luckily, my theme is life, and I'm a very good bullshitter. lol. Still, this might be a challenge. But I really want some color. And I suck at colored pencils.

Very beautiful sunset :)
