I remembered the other thing I wanted to write about--Mr. P's baby shower!
so. I also have Salmonberries now. It's fantastic. I got it friday night and when we got back from Mame and then the diner at around 1-ish, I stayed up til 3 watching both the movie and the 45-minute interview with k.d. lang :D
My hands are cold and I can't find my typing gloves. I think I'm going to try to track them down--and get myself one of the cookies that mom made yesterday. (got the gloves! they were both in the couch) yummy.
Yesterday afternoon (evening, actually--about 6:30) David and Emily went to the mall with us. Unfortunately, Perin couldn't come because she had to clean her room. ::shrug:: It was too bad. But we had a good time anyway. I only got 1 present for Katie, but I have potential gifts at B. Dalton--we spent a very long time there! we sat in the childrens section and read books. Me and Katie got all squeaky. I found a collection of 4 Virginia Lee Burton books! And Katie found a book that was another collection of some sort--I think it might have been the publishers. It had "Bread and Jam for Francis"!!! And also "Harold and the Purple Crayon" and "Caps for Sale"! I love "Caps for Sale"! So I'm thinking I'll get that for, uh, Katie. I also got her a present which will probably be for Hannukah. Ironically, it's a Christmas ornament ;) I can say no more, however. She probably won't read this between now and. . . tomorrow, isn't it! Well, in that case I might as well tell you--but I won't!
Anyway, after we got home, we ate a little then all cuddled on the couch. Well, technically Emily stayed in the chair (she was kinda tired but I offered a couple times to take her home and she waited, so I guess she wasn't having too awful a time). It was good that we were finally able to do something with Emily.
So somehow we managed to get to a conversation of Henry IV's (of the Holy Roman Empire) excommunication and subsequent standing around in snow for 3 days. Oh yeah, we were talking about walking through snow barefoot (like the k.d. lang song ;) because David's shoes are falling apart and he has new ones and he refuses to wear them. So we were saying that they were going to fall off and he'd be barefoot in the snow. [btw, I just looked up, cos there are windows above the computer, and the sky is a really fantastic color] Anyway. . . lol. David said then he'd be like Henry IV. And when he said Henry IV, orignally I thought he meant French, cos I liked him (Henry of Navarre, chicken in every pot guy) but then I was thinking that doesn't make any sense then I realized it was Holy Roman Empire guy. lol. And then we were trying to figure out what had happened there that he was standing in the snow. We were getting confused with our Gregory VII's and our Innocent III, and the guy who excommunicated all of England (Innocent) and the guy who did this one (Gregory). So! I ran up stairs and got our handy dandy Buckler Hill McKay! ::grins:: And we discovered that it was indeed Gregory VII, and it was partially over lay investiture and what not, but also partially over an exchange of nasty letters. So then we were just leafing through Buckler Hill McKay for the interesting bits. lol. Emily was just kind of observing, and she said she wanted to make a documentary of it, becauseof her Mark obsession she said that we made really interesting faces and looked really funny. And I said, "Yeah, you can call it, 'Nerds at Home: they get really excited over European History'". :D We had fun. We spent a lot of time talking European History. . . then David came up with a fantastic idea!!!! My new life's work!
I'm going to make a book on tape of Buckler Hill McKay!! :D
So I got a meaning to my existence yesterday.
( I think I'll talk a bit about Mame now )
I think I'll break the rest of my stuff to write up into another entry. lol. I don't know. I just don't want one monster entry.
I'll just say this about my report card: physics was my lowest grade. O_O I was completely blown away.
