As I'm sure you all know, today is mole day. October 23. Or, 10/23. And, of course, Avogadro's number (the mole number) is 6.02x1023. ::grins::

Last year in Chem on mole day (cos chem is kinda the year of the mole. ::blinks:: not the animal, avogadro's number of molecules/atoms/thingies in a mole of a substance. I just defined the thing using the thing. uhm. a mole is the amount of a substance that contains avogadro's number of molecules or atoms. there.) we played mole bingo! And me and Katie both won candy :D I think that the other Chem teacher, at least with the AP Chem class, played "whack-a-mole"!

But today on mole day we had a test :( Ah well!

Anyway, in honor of mole day, I have a chemistry joke for you all, that I found when journal surfing yesterday (I can't remember who's journal it was, though). Chem humor is the best! Here goes:
A neutron walks into a bar. He asks the bartender for a beer, and asks how much it costs. The bartender says, "For you, no charge."
XD XD XD XD I kill me. lol. (that's a quote from the Dilbert collection, "7 Years of Highly Defective People". It's one of Scott Adams little comments. I bought that book in Washington DC on a school field trip, in the gift shop of a museum of. . . television? media, I think. It was cool. I spent all the money I had with me on the book though ;)

Anyway. I should be working on my social studies. But I got started reading fics and I've been on the computer for an hour and a half and gotten about a paragraph written. oops. luckily he says they aren't due til wednesday, although I did want to get a lot more done than I did, because I have an orthodontist appointment tomorrow. Which I'm quite worried about, since my tooth in the back that was torturing me in Loch Lyme has been bothering me again this past week. :-/ We'll see what happens. >.<

And I have 5 questions left on the lab that's due tomorrow. . . at 10 I guess I'll get off the computer and do those. . .

Our field trip (in school) for sports medicine ended earlier than expected, so we had fifth period off. We were going to go to class, since we were just watching The Little Prince, but Perin couldn't go to her class (she wasn't prepared, since she thought she'd be on a field trip--and technically we needed that period to eat, so. . .) so we stayed in the cafeteria with her and had loads of fun!! And there was a fire drill, so when we were all standing on the field we were complaining about US history, and we decided! We're going to turn our US history class into a quilting bee! See, Terrell said that he was going to start knitting in class, and then we were saying that we all could, and then I was thinking about what we could do together, as a class, and--quilting! :D We'll make an AP US quilt :)

Then sixth period in art, me and Kristin are finished so we were looking through magazines for a picture for her to use for the next project (I'm using a picture that katie took of me :D) and we didn't really find anything, but it was loads of fun anyway. And I found a picture that I just thought was pretty, so I took it.

the amazing thing about this song, Think Too Much, by Idina Menzel, is that almost everything she mentions in the song, I've thought about. Especially when I was younger. Now I think too much but usually about different things. There's just a couple that I can't have because they don't apply to me, but I can absolutely bet that I will think about them. (cos they're about thinking about people you used to know when you get older--like the kid you first kissed or the girl that made fun of you)
