Once again, I post with a meme
Jan. 22nd, 2008 01:11 pmSeriously, this fandom is a bad influence on me. XD All my posts used to be bustin' with content! Anyway, Katie's in class and I'm doing the Momo thing (we were watching Kimi wa Petto again, because we made Omurice - which was AWESOME and so tasty and we left out the bacon and mushrooms) so I'm amusing myself with this meme.
Head home for Smith tomorrow. Sadditude. But I'll have four days at Smith to relax before classes start. >.< Not that much time. I plan to spend it scanning things and uploading stuff to youtube. XD I also need to buy books, take my forwarding slip out of my mailbox, which I meant to do when I stopped by campus before heading here, and pick up some of my exams and papers.
Tonight Katie and I are going to auditions of the play her org (the sci-fi and fantasy org) is putting on. This cuts down on our Johnny's watching time. DX We just started Gokusen yesterday and it's amazing. XD First off, Jun is a riot. Second off, if I had known the teacher was a yakuza princess I would have started it a while ago.
Anyway, I should do some packing before she gets home today, too.
On to meme, from
iverin:
1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions
I. . . will try to respond with questions. But if I can't think of enough, you'll get less than five. I'm bad at that sort of thing.
My answers to
iverin's questions.
1) Which daisempai BESIDES HIGASHI is the pimpin'est?
Augh, this is tough. Because Higashiyama is clearing the pimpin'est of all pimps. Also, I mainly only know Shonentai, so I want to say Nicky, because he's hilarious and I adore him. But I also love Hirohide Yakumaru, of Shibugakitai. You can see him in the 04-05 countdown, only in the flashback clips, or. . . he's currently the host of Hanamaru Cafe. XD Which is my favorite explosion of awkward. So I'll go with Yakkun.
2) Do you tend to be generous/kind when interpreting the first impression someone gives you?
Absolutely not. Especially in real life. I'm always judging people super-harshly from their first impressions. Like, if I know you, I'm not that judgy (I like to think) but with new people I always assume the worst and then later find out I was wrong and they're a totally nice, cool person. (Sometimes I later find out that they're really obnoxious, but that's usually people that I continue not to like after the first impression.) I'm less harsh on the internet, though, although I am still really picky about friending people and stuff. >.>
3) Would you rather perform something live or have it put on a CD/DVD?
Live, I guess. I don't get very bad stage fright, although I'm not much of a performer - I'm more likely to be giving a speech than singing. But I hate the sound of my voice recorded. I'm slowly getting used to it - partly because everyone says I sound just like my sister when I talk, and her voice is fine, so mine can't be that horrible.
4) Is it easier for you to apologize or to ask someone to apologize?
Hmm. I don't know if I ask people to apologize that much. But I can get very angry, and then I get cold and intense and whatever, so if I was angry, I could demand an apology without much problem. In normal circumstances, it might be easier to apologize. I'm not the type to apologize for something I didn't do, though.
5) You get to sit down for dinner with a Japanese idol. Who is it and what/where are you eating?
I was going to say Taichi to this question, because he's adorable and I'm in love with him and he's very non-threatening, but I think I'm going to change my answer to Sho, because he's also adorable, and he speaks English. And I guess we're eating at the Spaghetti Western in New York City, because that would give me something to talk to him about, and afterwards I can show him where I work, and take him around Chinatown and show him Ground Zero and City Hall and then we can get on the A train for 45 minutes and go to the Cloisters! If he, uh, likes medieval art. But Fort Tryon Park is really, really nice, too, and you can see Harlem! XD
edit: Two things. One: Obviously, still visiting Katie. Every night for about 20 minutes to half an hour, she talks on the phone with her boyfriend. I use this time to amuse myself on the internet, check the comms, etc. Last night, I used it to get into WaT. XD She hung up, and I was like "By the way, while you were talking to David, I became a WaT fan." She was all "I can't leave you alone for a minute!!" In particular, I like Wentz. He's adorable, and we've taken to calling him the Wentzlet. Does anyone know if there are any subbed videos of them out there?
Two: Am slowly catching up on the MMA boating episodes that
taijiproject is subbing. They're pretty intense and I often finish an episode feeling emotionally manipulated. XD But it's interested to see Arashi so stressed and stuff. But anyway, in one of the episodes, they were testing Arashi's wrist and back strength (they gave averages, too, which is really helpful in interpreting the stats I got from the '03 sports day behind the scenes!!). Jun, unsurpisingly, is pretty weak, but after seeing his results, he said "Who cares? Look how strong my face is!" Katie and I were cracking up! So amazing. XD Just wanted to share!

Date: 2008-01-22 06:56 pm (UTC)GOKUSEN IS AMAZING AND I HAVE FAILED YOU AS A FRIEND FOR NOT PIMPING IT PROPERLY. I'M SORRY. T___T
1) O.O I didn't know he was from Shibugakitai! This just shows that I am still so, so uninformed on daisempai! I must learn more. Feel free to teach me anything! Ahhh, he's cute. XD
2) I'm less-picky about friending but more likely to dislike someone after friending from time to time. Face-to-face I'm super easy on people because I'm usually really lonely and I'd like to make what connections I can.
3) I have horrible stage fright and I think I sound like a frightened mouse. XD
4) Well, that seems very even to me!
5) ......You are adorable. Sho in Harlem. I don't know why that made me giggle. Besides, if you went with Taichi he'd get your life story out of you and bring a camera crew with clips from elementary school PTA night shows or something.
...Can you take me around New York instead? 8D

Date: 2008-01-22 07:14 pm (UTC)1) He is the only non-Shonentai sempai that I know about. Katie loves the show, and he'd mentioned stuff a couple times that hinted that he was a Johnny's, so I figured out his name and tracked him down and then gradually managed to figure out what the characters for Shibugakitai were. Apart from that, here is what I know about the daisempai: Matchy was a popular solo artist, I think earlier in the 80s than Shonentai and Hikaru Genji. Otokogumi were an actual band and did DAYBREAK, and Okamoto Kenichi was a member but all I know about him is that he was also at that Countdown, looks really good for his age, should still not wear a leather skirt, and has a son in HSJ. Hikaru Genji had two members who were still active, but one of them was recently arrested for drug possession (and i know you know more about that than I do) and they used to roller skate a lot and SMAP backdanced for them.
That is all my daisempai knowledge. :(
5) The park itself is very, very pretty (although I only have pictures of it in winter at the moment) and the Cloisters are amazing, but this is the view (http://homepage.mac.com/guingel/.Pictures/18.jpg) from certain parts. XD I think someone from Japan would be interested, though!
Hahaha, oh, Taichi. ::is currently watching SCP:: XD He can have my life story any time!
I would love to take you around New York! :D I actually know the city much better since I started having out of town friends from college visit and am a fairly good tour guide. Except I know from Midtown to Central Park, and I know downtown, but in between Chinatown and midtown is a bit of a mystery to me - I'm almost never in Soho or the Village, so if you want to see anything there we will have to examine a guidebook. XD I do know Union Square now! And I know the location of all the Japanese bookstores in Manhattan, and the appropriate order in which to visit them. :D

Date: 2008-01-22 10:39 pm (UTC)Okamoto is damn hot for his age, and so is Atsuhiro from Hikaru Genji. And chibi!Okamoto in HSJ is beyond precious. Very smart kid as far as talking goes.
