Ahh, my cousin - who's from the Bronx - went to school at Duke. That's pretty close, right? So he would have been down there spreading his New York accent around. Although actually, almost no one in my family has a very strong Long Island/Brooklyn/whatever accent. Actually, my dad does when he's with his family, they have Brooklyn accents. Which are the same as Long Island and New Jersey accents, more or less. XD
Yeah, I love accents. Although when I was in England this past year I realized that in terms of sexiness for me, it's not the accent so much as the speech patterns, the way they talk - but accents can influence that a lot. Anyway, yeah, I don't actually have an LI accent but I love regional accents so much that when I'm away from home, I fake one. XD Just a little!
Yeah, the mix of different people and cultures is definitely one of my favorite things about NYC, that makes me really proud to be from here. (Or rather, from Long Island, but I work in the city and I consider myself from it! Cos Long Island is not a place to be proud of!)
I've dl-ed Double! So I'm about to watch it :D I'm really pleased, MU actually cooperated and I didn't have to wait 3 days to download 4 files!!
awww, I hate shopping - and I would really hate to do it by myself! Luckily for me my twin sister (Katie, who I mention all the time) actually loves shopping and is really good at it. So she takes me - actually, drags me. XD But she won't talk to store clerks, we need a Yasu for that! And for cuddling! Eeee, such a happy mental image. They should at least make Yasu plush dolls. And you can pull a cord and it'll say reassuring things!
